Sonder offers housekeeping services on demand for a nominal fee to ensure you can enjoy an uninterrupted and environmentally sustainable stay. Housekeeping services must be scheduled within 48 hours of your check-in and a minimum of 24 hours before the service is to take place. To schedule a cleaning service, follow these steps:
Step 1. Log in to the Sonder App:

Step 2. Navigate to your stay details:
Select the Stays tab and then your upcoming stay.
Step 3. Schedule the cleaning:
Scroll down to ‘Requests and services’ and select ‘Request a cleaning.’ Select the date and time you’d prefer the cleaning to take place, then submit payment to schedule the cleaning service.
Step 4. Prepare for the cleaning:
Please stow away any personal items; any personal items left in the open will not be touched and therefore that area will not be cleaned. For everyone's safety, please vacate your Sonder during the scheduled cleaning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I schedule a cleaning on my Sonder App?
- If you received a pop-up stating ‘Sorry! Cleaning services aren’t available yet for your Sonder,’ we don’t offer cleaning services at your building at this time.
- If you don’t see any available times on the calendar when trying to schedule a cleaning and your booking is within 48 hours of check-in, there may not be availability for the duration of your stay. Please check back later to see if any slots have opened up.
What’s included in a scheduled cleaning?
Your Sonder will be fully cleaned, as if you were first arriving. Our team will do the following:
- Take out trash
- Replace all towels
- Change all linens and make the bed
- Vacuum and sweep the floors
- Wipe own all surfaces
- Restock all bathroom toiletries
- Restock all kitchen supplies
*The cleaning team won’t touch or organize any of your personal belongings.
Why aren’t cleans free?
We keep our room rates low by not requiring daily housekeeping during your stay with us. We recognize that some guests value flexibility and convenience of on-demand housekeeping, and are happy to offer it as an opt-in amenity.
