Stay at our beautiful farmhouse, enjoy the authentic atmosphere | House in Monnickendam

We had a great time. The House is wonderful and equipped with everything you need.

We stayed three nights in Marieke and Leo’s farmhouse. Monnickendam is stunning. The people in town are super friendly. We bought fresh milk, cheese, and eggs from a neighbor down the road. We were a group of seven. The house accommodated us beautifully. I wish we could come back year after year. Just lovely!

The farmhouse was a perfect home base for our trip! We had day trips to Amsterdam, the north and the south and had time to explore Monnickendam. Some nights we cooked at the Farmhouse and some nights we ate on our outings. Every night we came home to a wonderful setting. It isn’t a complete visit to the Netherlands without time in the country. Our hosts were really responsive and very helpful before and during our visit! They recommended we have a car and it was great guidance. We miss the farmhouse and hosts already.

We recently spent a week at this charming property. Communications with the owners ahead of time was quick and responsive. We were met as we arrived and shown around the property. They were happy to answer any questions and had prepared for us a recommendation list of nearby restaurants and things to do locally. The home was charming, bright and clean. Every amenity was provided for. Comfy beds for up to eight people. A spacious public living/dining room. A full kitchen with all equipment necessary to prepare a meal, and even access to an outdoor grill. The house is very comfortable and it is easy to feel at home during your stay. The home is located about a half hour outside Amsterdam, close to the village of Monnickendam. Public transport is available from the village to Amsterdam and points elsewhere, which we took advantage of for a day trip to Amsterdam. Again, the owners were very helpful as to where to park in the village and how to access the bus system. There is ample parking at the home for any rental vehicle you may have. The home is situated in canaled farm land. it is peaceful, quiet and quite lovely. There is local milk and eggs that can be purchased from a nearby farm and you will see many ducks, swans, sheep and cows nearby. Book this property with confidence. It is perfect if one is looking for a quiet place to relax away from the hustle of Amsterdam, yet still convenient to places you want to visit. Say hello to Sasha and Timmy for us! Thank you!

Evrything was perfect ! We loved the charming Monnickendam village, and it was very easy to go to Amsterdam each day. The house is beautiful and comfortable. Marieke and her husband are very nice, they did the best to host us.

Probably one of the best places to stay for a trip to Amsterdam. This space is very big and exceptionally comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed including coffee for the morning! The whole place was newly renovated and extremely tidy and well put together. The idyllic location outside the city was quiet and peaceful but it was still extremely easy to get into Amsterdam by public transportation. The hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. We really loved the basket of firewood they gave us each night which made for a cozy atmosphere. As we we’re staying over there around Christmas, they even set up a Christmas tree for us as a special touch! I can’t imagine staying at any better place. Thanks so much to Leo and Marieke for such a wonderful experience! We highly recommend a stay here for any trip to Amsterdam.

This property is absolutely magical feeling, and I felt privileged to have experienced a stay here. The area is serene and idealic with beautiful farmland surrounding you. The town had wonderful places to eat, and an easy access (via public transportation) into Amsterdam. The owners are kind, respectful, and very helpful towards the guests. There's a useful list of activities, and places to visit provided by the owner. I deeply loved this home being our welcome to the Netherlands.

We loved our time staying at the house in Monnickendam, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get outside of Amsterdam and see the lovely Countryside around Holland. the house is beautiful and very well cared for and we really enjoyed our stay.

We booked the apartment for our vacation (6 adults). We are completely satisfied. Before starting our trip, we had a few questions. We wrote this to Marieke and Leo and received an immediate reply. So we already had a good feeling about the apartment. The apartment is even nicer than in the pictures. Three Bedrooms with Air condition und 3 bathrooms (all three with toilets and 2 of them with showers). We doesnt needed the last bed. A wonderful kitchen and a large living room. Everything is new, neat and clean. We felt very comfortable. We could always reach Marieke and Leo with questions and they gave us many tips what to discover in the area. We: - grilled in the garden - did a great board tour - went swimming in different places (one is just 50m away from the apartment) - visit different places - visit Amsterdam - did bike rides All in all we were happy with everything. Thank you Marieke und Leo that you make it so easy for us to have a wonderful holiday. If it were possible we would give you more than 5 stars. :)
