1970s' Ace | Apartment in Ferhadija Street, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Positive: Beautiful stay, decor is stuck in the 70s bachelor pad. Amazing location right in downtown, amenities were huge. waters and coffee and cereal were provided. Laundry soap, hair blow dryer, towels, iron, some snacks, and female hygiene products provided. It was unfortunately too hot outside to try the sauna but definitely will next time I come. Had a full kitchen and temperature controlled shower. Lots of pillows and blankets to share. Host was extremely kind and gave us a tour of the apartment, shared some local tips, and showed us how to walk from the parking to the apartment.

Negative: Right beside the Main Street and tram rail leading to very loud street sounds during the night, so if you are a light sleeper I wouldn’t suggest this location. No AC, but there are 2 fans so beware it does get very warm at night. Lots of stairs up to the facility and they are quite slippery so definitely not accessible to wheelchairs or physically impaired persons. Parking is 700m away from the apartment, so it is not ideal if you are using your car everyday. but the parking is in a secure location so it’s perfect if you are walking around Sarajevo everyday and exploring locally.

Positive: This apartment exceed my expectations. The location is right next to the Bascarsija, kind and informative welcome from our host Kanita, small details in the apartment that made my stay grateful, gratis parking.. If your looking for an authentic experience in Sarajevo, you should definitely stay here.

Positive: Enhance your visit to this historic city by staying in a piece of history of its own!

Negative: Perhaps have a double set of keys for larger groups so it is easy to navigate in and out of the buidling.

Positive: The location was perfect, in the middle of the city center, close to everything. The supermarket was even across the street. Kanita was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English and German. The apartment was luxurious and belonged to a former F1 champion. The sauna was also an extra nice addition to our stay.

Negative: The apartment was very warm, even with ventilation. Maybe it's worth mentioning in the description that the parking is 10 minutes walking (which was no problem) and that the apartment is on the third floor without an elevator (which also wasn't a problem).

Positive: A true gem of a place. A spacious apartment equipped with everything you might need – and more. I especially loved the little private sauna in the bathroom! The whole design is wonderfully “retro”. In the 1970s it must have been ultra-modern, now it oozes the charm of a bygone age. The light fixtures in particular are very Yugoslav avant-garde in style (but probably not very energy efficient). Not everything is old here, though, e.g. the Miele washing machine seems brand new. And there is perfect wifi. The cave-like bedroom was comfy, the living room very spacious. The sound system only had a radio and tape deck, but the TV is a modern LED flat screen. There is a second toilet in the hallway by the entrance, another asset when sharing the flat. The apartment is ideal for two, though in theory one or two extra persons could sleep on the sofas in the living room. The little kitchen is fully equipped except for a microwave, with a hob featuring both electric and gas (and an oven). We never used the freezer and the big fridge could have held much more than we needed. Instant coffee, tea, basic spices and cooking oil are provided, also some sweets. On check-in we were given a guided tour by the owner’s daughter and got instructions on using the switches (useful, as there are so many), how to turn the gas on and off and how to operate the sauna. The apartment is on one of the main roads around the Old Town (which is just steps away) but it wasn’t too noisy from the tram and car traffic – more so from nearby roadworks but the pneumatic drilling finished by the evening so it wasn’t a big issue. There’s a little supermarket directly across from the apartment and a great bakers further up the street. You can find cheaper self-catering options in Sarajevo, but the added value of the 70s style, the spaciousness and the fully equipped kitchen and modern washing machine make the price very much worth it. And there is that extra of the private sauna! Loved the place!

Negative: The bathroom is fine, though the shower is a little weak. The apartment is on the second floor and there’s no lift – so it’s not for people with mobility problems. But we didn’t mind. One bathroom mirror lightbulb went during our stay, blowing a fuse, but that was easy enough to find and switch back on. Otherwise everything worked just fine.

Positive: First and foremost, to mention is the host and her daughter, who are very responsive, friendly, and genuinely supportive. We were personally welcomed for check-in and received a lot of valuable informstion fordt hand. The apartment is situated perfectly within short walking distance to the old town, tram stop, fine restaurants and all major sights. It is kept in the original and very unique 1970s style, very spacious, and provides everything you need. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the especially the sauna and washing machine & dryer are to be mentioned. Thumbs up and full recommendation, we will be happy to come back!

Negative: There is nothing to complain about!

Positive: First of all, we were suspicious about the age of building. But owner restored all house wonderful conditions.. She was very kind and helpful, everything has been arranged for our comfort with every fine details.. The Most Wonderful thing in that home really you can feel in comfortable way 50 years ago, how people was living.. Just car parking a little far away from apartment, but when you compare with other places you can stay near to city center, it is also good option to find free parking.
