Every Sonder city is chosen by the same people looking for the same things. Design-led places in neighborhoods worth exploring, where the location is as important as the room. We’d rather list ten stays we believe in than a hundred we don’t, so the map grows slowly and on purpose. Wherever you book, you know what you’re getting.

We look for places that are walkable and well-connected. The goal is to offer you a base that makes the city easy to step into, with cafés, food, and everyday life within reach of the front door.
An aparthotel pairs hotel-style service with a kitchen and more room to spread out, which suits longer stays or anyone who'd rather not eat out every night. A boutique or design hotel leans into character and a sense of place. Both show up across our cities; the listing tells you which is which.
The mix varies by city. Some lean toward aparthotels, others toward boutique hotels, and inventory changes over time. The directory only lists cities with enough stays to be worth booking, so you won't land on an empty page.
