Amafu Forest Lodge | Cabin in Kampersrus, Limpopo

“Very friendly staff, very very big house All neat, clean and comfortable Really enjoyed the stay”

“Start with the good things...the setting is beautiful and the receptionist was very kind. The roads were well maintained and parking was easy. The place has a lot of potential. The disappointing issue was that the Expedia listing is not accurate and the owners were completely non-responsive. The restaurant is not open as described in the listing (breakfast is provided, though). Also, the tent I booked said it had a private pool. That was not the case at all. The listing for both tents listed a private pool but it was only available to one of them. That would not have been bad if the owner had given me the courtesy of a response. When I brought it up, they ignored my message. I know they read it from the read receipt. Later, when the power went out, I notified them. No response until morning when they curtly informed me of the time it came on (just maybe 10 minutes later). Coincidentally, I was fully aware of that time and didn't intend my message as a complaint. I felt they were offended by it since they didn't respond until 8 hours later. Finally, the 3 spiders in my sheets were the last straw. It was a tent, so maybe understandable, but I did not feel confident that I found them all. I checked out early and they obviously did not offer a refund. I did notify Expedia of the listing discrepancies and they attempted to contact the owners with no success. Beautiful place, but know what you are getting. As an experienced traveller, this is the first negative review of my life.”

“Absolutely amazing place to stay!”

“Amafu is gorgeous! Vanessa and Pledge were very helpful. The location is beautiful, exactly what I expected. ”

“Lovely deluxe tent with a spectacular view. No luck tho and staff was unseen for the entire stay. Pool was very dirty and restaurant was close. The tent was great tho and we loved the area.”

“My family of three (wife, two year old daughter and myself) travelled to Hoedspruit for a weekend away. We stayed in the family cottage and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage and the property. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, with our cottage cleaned on the second day, without having to ask. The property has great views on offer, but also has amazing cycads, which we enjoyed looking at on a walk around the property. The pool is perfect and again offers that real feeling of peacefulness, while you cool off from the higher temperatures. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!”

“We enjoyed our stay at Amafu very much, it is a very relaxing environment with a spectacular view, the staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty indeed. However we just found the luxury tents needing a little extra cleaning and maintenance.”

“The view from the chalets is absolutely amazing! Was only there for 1 night but really wish we could have stayed longer!”

“Great food, nice scenery and overall a great experience. Two small issues we had included no wifi in the chalet and the pool was green and had frogs swimming around for a couple days which meant we couldn't go for a dip. ”

“If you Need a break from the hustle and bustle then spend a night or two tucked away here. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Safe place to stay, no worries at all.”
