Appellation Healdsburg Reviews
Summary: The property itself is really nicr, but the restaurant was incredibly disappointing, and the staff — while friendly — were not remotely knowledgeable about the area or the hotel itself. How late is the hot tub open? “Great question, no idea.” Can we get a second ice bucket? “Not sure if we can do that.” Where is there a nice walking trail nearby? “I think the closest one is like 40 minutes away.” (Spoiler: there were multiple within 5-10 min) So if you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful place to stay and don’t intend to eat on property or ask the staff any questions, this is the place for you!

Summary: The room was very modern and well appointed. Sometimes the design of the amenities was more important than their function. But after using them, they all were impressive. Very comfortable bed. Housekeeping was very efficient.

Summary: The property has everything one could want. The gym is great. The pool was nice. A heated spa would have been the icing on the cake, but there was a spa in the pool area.

Summary: We travel often. This hotel, facilities, staff, and proximity to everything we had planned was perfect! Without a doubt a beautiful hotel with very attentive staff. We will only be staying here on future trips. We went on a couples trip but this location would be great for large parties also.

Summary: The hotel is new and the staff were super nice and helpful. Breakfast french toast was great. Grounds are nicely kept, though just back up against a hillside. My primary issues were the following: 1) room was quite small and dark, and our end unit abutted a berm and a parking lot; And, the hotel is part of a larger complex of condos alongside the main road -- not exactly a special and wonderful location like the Montage next door (which is almost twice the price). 2) egregiously high $60/day "resort fee" for absolutely zero value -- we were only there for 2 nights and didn't even use the pool, gym, etc. And these amenities are part of why you visit in the first place! Not to pay $400 and then another $60 in fees just so they can list the "lead pricing" when booking. When you pay that high a resort fee you damn well better get amazing value in return. 3) Door are not weighted properly and slam loudly when closing, waking you up at night when other rooms nearby enter or leave; 4) hotel staff seemed unable to deal with a gift certificate we had with them, and didn't incorporate it properly either when I made the booking or when checking in -- so ultimately my card was still charged the full amount, which they then are needing to unwind. Very nice about, no complaints about the staff at all, just seems like the hotel doesn't have all their systems in place, and the resort fee and poor value mean we won't be returning.
