“Mum and I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Bailiffgate hotel. The hotel was beautifully appointed and clean. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was really good and the staff attentive. Our twin room was clean and perfect for a 2 night stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.”

“It’s a nice hotel but, at £840 for two night’s B&B, it’s phenomenally expensive for what it is. Staff were polite but the numerous contact calls and mails/ texts before we stayed, and contact points during, always made you feel like you were being upsold. The room was clean but the taps on the bath were wobbly and it was pretty dirty between the bath and the window. The bed was very comfy. The balcony was nice but it did pool water in it when it rained and you couldn’t really sit out - no views and no smoking / vaping allowed. Breakfast was nice - good selection at the buffet part, but I’d expect t nothing less for £25 per person. I would go back, but not at that price!”

“We had a fantastic stay at the Bailiffgate Hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hotel itself is beautifully finished, combining modern luxury with the character of the historic building in a truly special setting opposite Alnwick Castle. Our Terrace Suite was exceptional. It was spacious, immaculately presented and finished to a very high standard. The private terrace was a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring Northumberland and really made our stay feel extra special. The standout feature, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team we met was warm, welcoming and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel valued from the moment we arrived until we checked out. It’s clear the hotel places a real emphasis on hospitality.”

“We have been travelling for nearly 4 months and staying in various hotels, and I will say the Bailiffgate Hotel was by far one of the best hotels so far. We could not fault anything from the room, the welcoming, the food and the staff. Location was superb, opposite the castle and in walking distance to town with a variety of shops, friendly pubs. “By far our favourite hotel in UK…superb accommodation. Rooms excellently designed and fitted. Really comfy bed and linen superb. Staff were brilliant. Highly attentive and helpful. Special mention to Adam and Ellie bar staff…really friendly and helpful. Grounds well designed and on the two days we were there the patio area was fantastic…cool and nice breeze on a hot few days. Absolute credit to the UK hotel industry…and so superbly located to visit the gorgeous Castle and town of Alnwick and the gorgeous north east beaches.”

“This is hotel is in excellent position for the Alnwick castle and town.Though car park is downhill then staff is at hand to help with luggage. We found that staff were too eager to serve / attend to unseen needs- especially breakfast seems chaotic with little choice with either cooked breakfast or a limited breakfast bar with no fresh bread. We also found the evening menu limited with focus on meat. Within the hotel there was no area for residents to relax except for a thorough fare conservatory - the bar was unwelcome and with staff busy talking to themselves behind a forest of chairs. Rooms are nice but overflowing with mini packs of all sorts leaving little room to put the toilet bag on a shelf or ability to use the coffee table. Despite the above then we will probably come back if need to as there were a few excellent staff who made for a relaxing stay”
