Beachcomber Inn  |  Villa in San Clemente

The Beachcomber was everything we thought it might be , charming, well located, with staff that was friendly helpful and courteous. We arrived by train and we certainly appreciated the fact that it was a short walk from the station. We can say without reservation that we would return should our travel plans ever take us to San Clemente again!

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, this was a great place. The views were amazing

Floor was filthy. Had to have them come mop because my feet we black from walking on it. Had to pay to park on street because there’s only one spot per unit and someone took two spaces. All spaces are compact cars only too. Didn’t work for our truck. Parking added up over 4 nights. Couldn’t watch tv first night because remote batteries were dead. We were the first unit by the gate so we listened to everyone coming and going and we’re right next to the house keepers loudly talking and laughing while doing laundry.

Beautiful spot. Very close to the beach and plenty of space to spread out on their grounds. We will probably come back.

Absolutely Beautiful view. It has only 12 villas but you will feel right at home. Most guest are super nice and share certain things like food, drink and toys with each other. The fire pit is amazing and roasting marshmallows is even better.

Great room, clean, above all the Beach View was phenomenal! We will definitely be back for weekend getaways

Clean and nicely decorated. Loved the view and porch. Close to restaurants but quiet.

We’ve stayed here several times before and always enjoyed our visits, which made this experience even more disappointing. We arrived during a miserable cold wind and rainstorm and were relieved when the front desk told us our room was warm and ready. Unfortunately, when we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming Pine-Sol smell that filled the entire room. If we opened the windows to air it out, we froze. If we kept them closed, we had to endure the strong chemical odor. We even lit a candle to try to mask the smell. To make matters worse, the room was absolutely freezing. The old wall heater showed that it was “on,” but no heat was coming out. We called the front desk multiple times and couldn’t reach anyone. Eventually, someone called back, and when we explained that we were freezing and the heater wasn’t working, we were told that the units are very old and don’t work well. We were instructed to use a small portable heater in the closet instead. We plugged it in, and just as it started to warm the area and we were all set up to play cards, it blew a fuse. The heater and all the lights went out. We tried calling the front desk again several times, but no one was available for the rest of the evening. We were stuck in the dark in a freezing room. This stay was extremely disappointing and we couldn’t wait to leave.

Clean rooms, and the VIEW! we loved sitting on our porch and watching the sunsets over the pier. Best photos ever. Close to the beach and coffee, lunch spots. Quiet neighborhood.
