Beachcomber Island Resort | Hotel in Beachcomber Island, Western Division

“This is a really difficult review to write as you have to be there to understand what it’s like. The island is idyllic 500 metres to fully walk around it with clear blue sea and fantastic snorkelling on coral reefs from the beach. Sadly time and passage has killed off lots of coral close to the beach but swim out a short distance and there is endless opportunity. The boat trip and fish feeding were excellent but be warned you will be surrounded by zebra fish which can be overwhelming. The kayaking was good but going onto any neighbouring islands result in a landing fee of $15 per person so we turned around and came back. The staff are very kind and very helpful and there’s always someone to ask a question. The room was basic but really nice with exceptional views and the best sunsets. As vegetarians we struggled a little on a 4 day stay. The evening menu remains unchanged and we had the same starter and main course every night that was a little too repetitive. Breakfast was way too basic for us. 1 juice each morning limited choice and hot water for tea and coffee. Lunch was ok too. There seemed to be very little organisation with good service. Waiting a lot for menus etc. flies were a problem too and food had to be covered with cling film daily. For a 4 star resort I think our expectations were a little higher. There was lots of building work operating all day and late into the night that we were not aware was happening on booking. Loved our stay overall just honest about it”

“Great place for a family, friends, and couples. The staff was super friendly and knew your names. It was extremely relaxing and had an activity a day to keep you occupied. I highly recommend the beach Burre it was hidden away and so relaxing.”

“The all inclusive food was limited. There was not much to choose from and most items were not available. All drinks including soft drinks were additional. The room was clean and well air conditioned. The ferry ride was quick yet very pricey.”

“Amazing place to experience “island vibes”. Great people, excellent location. Snorkelling, kayaking, sunsets, pool, bar, beach - all great! Some construction going on as of May 2026 until about Nov 2026. Might want to check with staff to try to stay further away. Food is fairly basic, but good and sufficient. Excellent stay for a few nights, highly recommend!”

“The island was beautiful and the hotel rooms are nice and clean. I highly recommend booking the beachfront bure. Breakfast is included and it was good, but there’s an opportunity to improve the food quality and provide more options for lunch and dinner.”

“The views are amazing but the property is under construction so expect alot of noise. The staff was helpful for the most part but checkin is a nightmare and wasn’t greeted with the most welcoming vibe at the guest counter.”

“Our 6 night stay on Beachcomber Island was perfect. Lovely beach front Bure and fantastic weather. The upgraded facilities and new pool are excellent. I called this our sand Island. Dining breakfast and lunch buffets undercover from hot sun is on sand however there is a new open deck under umbrellas and perfect for dinner under the stars. All the food was nice with different choices. Everyday day trippers come and they have a full itinerary to fill the day. Lots to do for everyone snorkeling Cloud 9 Kokoda demonstrations turtle viewing on the island Or relaxing under umbrellas on a sun lounge. Friendly staff who make you welcome. There is still construction going on however it didn’t bother us. The free wifi is very good”

“It felt like a true south sea island escape. Our room (bula) was massive with the moat comfortable bed. The bathroom was immaculate with a great shower. We had a porch with comfy loungers and a hammock with a priceless view. The staff were so kind and helpful. We unplugged from the world and slept 8 - 9 hours a night. I snorkled every day and that was worth the price of admission! I read 2 books in 4 days and I can't remember the last time I did that. It was paradise.”

“Pretty nice hotel to get an island vacation without breaking the bank. The food options are somewhat limited, if you have dietary restrictions, you need to let them know in advance. the facilities are nice, friendly staff and free snorkeling and kayaking. The massage facilities are very good at reasonable prices. The island is gorgeous. ”
