Title: Great camp stay and hospitality, but skip the Bedouin tour
I had a really good time staying at the Black Sand Camp, though the experience was a bit mixed.
The Highlights:
Everything at the camp itself was fantastic. The tents were comfortable, and both the dinner and breakfast were excellent. A special shoutout goes to the Nigerian manager—his behavior, hospitality, and helpfulness made the stay much better. The camel ride was also perfectly organized and a lot of fun.
Negative:
The Disappointment:
Unfortunately, the Bedouin family tour was a big letdown. I paid 15 OMR expecting a deep, authentic experience where I could properly meet the families, explore the area, and get a genuine look into their daily lifestyle. That didn't happen at all. It lacked the cultural depth I was looking for, and honestly, it felt like a waste of 15 OMR.
Summary: Title: Great camp stay and hospitality, but skip the Bedouin tour.

Positive:
This camp is truly exceptional. It is absolutely bang-for-your-buck. Amazing location in a quiet part of the Wahiba Sands. You will see no other developments. Because the area was remote and away from other camps, it was exceptionally dark which made it easy to see thousands of stars. I drove my own 4x4 vehicle and convoyed with other guests and the hotel staff. I was given GPS coordinates to meet the staff and Google Maps was brilliant. No issues at all. I had everything I needed. So much value at this place well-priced compared to some of the other camps in Wahiba Sands. The owner is friendly, helpful, accommodating and wonderful. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
Negative:
My vehicle got stuck in the sand when leaving but the owner and other guests were able to easily extract me without much of a fuss. And this only added to the wonderful adventure at this well-appointment and charming camp.
Summary: Exceptional, well-appointed and comfortable camp that is amazingly well-priced for what you get.

Sleeping in the desert is always a magical experience, and staying in the black sand domes made it even more unforgettable.
Our stay was made even more memorable thanks to Lenin, a wonderful host and talented cook who took great care of us throughout our visit. His warmth, attention, and delicious meals added a very personal and welcoming touch to the entire experience
Negative:
The only downside was the “Discover the Desert” excursion. It was one of the most expensive activities offered, and unfortunately the driver did not speak English, which made it difficult to learn or understand anything about the desert and its culture. The experience felt more like a simple car ride to a so called Bedouin house that now seems primarily set up for tourists to purchase souvenirs. It did not feel as authentic as we had hoped.
For that reason, I would recommend choosing a different desert experience.

I had an excellent experience at this property. The hotel was super clean and well-maintained, which made my stay very comfortable. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. On top of that, the price was very reasonable for the quality provided. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and I would highly recommend it to others!
Negative:
The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no Wi-Fi available for me, which made it a bit inconvenient since I didn’t have a local SIM card or data in Oman. However, aside from that, everything was excellent. The property was great, and it was an overall wonderful journey for me
Summary: “An excellent and welcoming stay with great cleanliness and comfort!”

The accomodation was clean, modern and in a nice place. Host contact us and help us with check in. It was nice from him.
Negative:
When we arrived, host just dissapear and in the camp nobody stay. We were there alone. It was bit strange, but ok. We expected some welcoming at least and more that we will have breakfast, cause it was written in information. Thats why was luxury tent a little expensive cause we didnt had food.
Summary: Nice place, quiet and modern. I would appreciate some welcoming by the host and payed breakfast.

The camp is in a wonderful area that is very quiet and secluded, yet not too far away. The firepit sitting was wonderful. The domes and tents were clean, comfortable, and of high standard. Dinner and breakfast were both filling and tasty. Salim and Humaid were extremely gracious hosts. I literally could not ask for anything better!
Overall this was an exceptional stay!
