“It's not the first time I stay at Boxotel, and this time I was a little bit disappointed. It seems like the hotels lacks a bit of love: the windows were ridiculously dirty, there was a light switch panel in the bedroom that was broken, you could see that the carpet in the corridors was dirty and there were a lot of black marks on the walls. Maybe it's harder to take care of these things when you don't have people on sight full-time, I don't know. Would I stay there again? Probably. The room itself was very clean and the bed is extremely comfortable. The location is good, with restaurants and the Place des Festivals close by. For those who want to eat at the hotel, the kitchen in the studios is well-equipped.”

“The glass bathroom may not be to everyone’s taste. It’s a very cool hotel, well located, and there is coffee and tea in the lobby as well as some snacks. Make sure you get your door code before you arrive.”

“The staff was very nice and helpful, but we had trouble checking in at first and no one answered when we called (during the posted opening hours). The design of the room was really nice, the location was great, the hotel included nice facilities, and the self-service coffee was really appreciated. However, many small things in our room were broken: - the freezer door wouldn't close all the way, so it got icy - the AC temperature constantly reset, so you could only change the temperature for maybe an hour or so, then it would default back to 24° - the light switch in the bathroom was broken - the bottom of the TV was melted in several places (maybe from candles?) - the remote/TV was so slow and unresponsive that it was unusable - the toilet flush button often got stuck - the foldout bed had a loose screw, making it feel a bit unstable when raising/lowering it Finally, the hot tub on the top floor was closed, without further information. That was really unfortunate we thought, because we were really looking forward to using that.”

“Our stay was excellent from start to finish. We arrived shortly before 3 pm and we were greeted by Terry who was very welcoming and took the time to explain all of the amenities available to us. The unit was clean, well equipped and functional. Decor is industrial. No carpet; the flooring had the concrete look which we liked since it was very clean. Mattress was very firm but was surprisingly extremely comfortable. Our 60 year old joints and bones had no aches and pains whatsoever after 3 nights! Such a pleasure! There was 24/7 snack/breakfast offerings that were of high quality. These little details were much appreciated. Location is in an area that does seem to attract some homeless, but I think that is to be expected in downtown Mtl. However, we walked past many of them late at night and they all left us alone. There is a large fire station very close by which we felt contributed to the safety of the immediate area. The hotel's security is good and we felt safe. The hotel is a short walk to Place des Arts metro station and St Catherine Street. We loved our stay and we will be back!”
