Bristow's Inn | House in Elmira

It was a very pleasant stay. The house is charming and well cared-for. I appreciated the detailed communications from the owner, explaining how to access the house and the room I was staying in, as well as providing complimentary drinks and suggestions for things to do and places to eat nearby.

Great location for walking in town. The backyard wasn’t really kept up but has 5 star possibilities with a little TLC. Room was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked for continental breakfast . Would highly recommend.

So I stayed for 1 night. Yes, the owner continually says that house is old. I have lived in a house older than this but it doesn't need to smell old. I don't believe anyone lives on-site but the exterior of the property needs some attention.Cobwebs and overgrown bushes in the backyard. The interior needs a refresher. When you list as a BnB that usually means someone is there making breakfast. Not serve yourself cold cereal, yogurt, bagel or bananas. The best part of my stay was the excellent water pressure in the shower.

Very nice and close to town proper and the kissing bridge trail.. Such a beautiful place:)

The property is well maintained, rooms clean, lots of parking! The light breakfast is a good way to start the day!

The Bristow's Inn has a wonderful Victorian character. The room and common areas are nicely furnished with period furniture and decorated with local hand made decorations like quilts, signs. The location is good too. While the communication with the owner was clear and prompt, it was always via email or text. We never saw the owner or any staff which makes the stay a bit impersonal. Some guests may prefer the independent stay, we prefer the human contact. That being said, all instructions and signs are very clear and things, including breakfast are easy to find. Breakfast is self-serve, which is a bit unusual in an inn. It had good variety od bagels, muffins, bread, fruit, yogurts and local jams but it did not feel like anything special as you would expect in an inn or B&B. We still had a nice stay and would return.

Very nice stay here. Very comfy bed....vintagey decorating which was cute. Bed was very comfortable. Everything you need for a rest stop.

I really enjoyed my stay. The end has all the comfort of staying in an Airbnb with the amenities of staying in a hotel. They have everything you need for a light continental breakfast. There are mini fridges in the room for anything you need. Coffee in the room. Everything was exceptionally clean. I did not need to communicate with staff, but I knew exactly how to get a hold of them if something came up. I was able to store my bike with no problem. They gave me some options. The location is fantastic. The town is charming. The Inn is charming. If I decide to do some more Cycling out in the area I will for sure be staying here again.

Bristow’s was a comfortable, quiet place to relax and regroup for me. I stayed in the Moyer room. It was clean & cozy. Parking was simple to find. Shower was a welcome treat and sleep great. Breakfast was serve yourself, but there was lovely fresh bread. Muffins, cereal, fruit, bagels, nice coffee or tea. Butter, home-made jam. Quite an assortment! I didn’t get a chance to walk in the little town of Elmira - that was my loss. It truly has a small town vibe with lots of family owned businesses lining the street in the main downtown area. I will definitely be back.

Very interesting concept for a B&B, there is no contact with the owner yet everything is extremely well communicated and provided for your use and comfort. The owner does live on site and just a text away. It was quaint, clean, comfortable and quiet all you need for a little get away.
