Buffalo Mountain Lodge | Hotel in Banff

The hotel was very good and the staff lovely. Fantastic having a complimentary bus pass into town and beyond. The restaurant was good and so was the bar. The staff were very good in sorting an issue with hotels.com. We had to book a one night and then a two night to get 3 nights stay in total. The hotel had not realised this but sorted our rooms out for us plus we were given a credit for the room from Expedia. One issue with the accommodation is if on the ground floor the noise from above was quite significant. It’s the way the buildings are built with not enough sound insulation. Otherwise very good

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and nice! They made sure we remembered to use our room credit, explained the bus drop off/pick up, provided us with the 4 day bus pass free of charge (which was a very nice surprise), we were offered room service on day on of our stay, and were so friendly when we checked out! Next time we stay in Banff we would definitely consider staying here again!

The room and surrounding areas were clean. The hot tub is an added bonus, The hotel provided free tickets to take the bus to downtown. Not too far from the hotel, there is Tunnel Mountain hiking trail to enjoy the view of Banff and Bow Valley.

Check in was quick and easy. They do give an actual key rather than a key card. We got upgraded to a junior suite from a king room which was nice to have the extra space. There is a hot tub which we enjoyed one night. They also provide a 3 day bus pass. We were there 3 nights. We had breakfast there one day as well which was good. The only thing I didn’t realize is that there is no AC but the room cools down at night so it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.

We arrived at 2am after having a flight cancelled. We appreciated email reassurance that reception staff would be there to check us in. Room was fabulous! Restaurant was stylish, food was excellent and service was wonderful. The nicest hotel of our 6 nights

Amazing time. Just a mile away from downtown Banff. Bus vouchers provided and a cozy stay. The small issue we had with keys was immediately resolved by the helpful staff

Downtown Banff can be a little overwhelming on a crowded summer day, with literally thousands of people walking up and down Main Street each hour and parking impossible to find. That’s why it was so nice to stay on Tunnel Mountain at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. While less than 10 minutes from downtown Banff, it felt a world away. The setting is really beautiful, with hiking trails just steps away. However, you never really feel inconvenienced by not staying downtown on Main Street, because the lodge provides free Roam bus passes and the bus picks up right out front of the lodge and whisks you downtown in less than a quarter hour. If you prefer to avoid downtown altogether, there is a nice bar and restaurant at the hotel, along with a fitness center and hot tub for the guests. The rooms themselves are quite large, and distributed around the main lodge in several 2 story buildings with ample parking alongside them. We even had a fireplace in our room, along with a nice balcony facing the mountains. Staff were helpful and we really had a nice stay.
