Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Wonderful stay, exceptionally welcoming, and great value for money!
We had an amazing experience at Casa Mary! The place is super cute, clean, tidy, and wonderfully quiet there ia built in nets on the windows, a fan, and hot water in the showers.. The price is excellent for what you get, and having the shuttle included from the Lanquín bus station made arriving very easy..
Mary and her family are unbelievably kind and attentive, they truly care about their guests. When we hung our laundry outside to dry, Mary kindly took it down for us before it started raining!
Highly recommended, and we would definitely love to stay here again!

Positive: Mary and her husband took such great care of us, Mary was so helpful and it was very easy to book everything with them, and Luis gave us a free ride to and from the bus station :) the small group tour or just transport to Semuc Champey was very affordable. Small place away from the noise of the town that felt homely.
Negative: Very basic but good for 2 nights!

If you are looking for an authentic Guatemalan homestay, this is the perfect place for you! Mary and her family are very welcoming and the food they prepared was great and well priced. The tour to Semuc Champey with her son David was the best!!! When you arrive at the bus station they will pick you up by tuctuc. Very handy!

Positive:
Really nice people work in this family hostel. Very clean, good restaurant, fair prices. Free pick up and drop off service. Definetely do the Semuc Champey tour with them.
Negative:
The walls are thin, so you listen to everything happening outdoor and on the others rooms (but this is quiet common in Guatemala).
Summary: Best choice in Lanquin
