Summary: This hotel is all about the location, the significance of the building and the friendliness of the people. You are literally in the gate of the Cathedral, our room looked out on it. The building has been a hotel or pilgrim hostel since records were kept. The room is obviously dated and they have mostly done what they could to keep it up to standard. But the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast. Parking is paid at the hotel, just park at the cathedral lot and you get the hotel rate sorted at the hotel.

Summary: We had a nice stay . However , we would choose another hotel next time . The staff were great as was the breakfast. But unfortunately it was not for us due to stairs and uneven footing .

Summary: This hotel is all about the location, the significance of the building and the friendliness of the people. You are literally in the gate of the Cathedral, our room looked out on it. The building has been a hotel or pilgrim hostel since records were kept. The room is obviously dated and they have mostly done what they could to keep it up to standard. But the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast. Parking is paid at the hotel, just park at the cathedral lot and you get the hotel rate sorted at the hotel.

Summary: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The 'free' breakfast was good (especially the fresh fruit salad) but limited in choice. The building, which is very close to the cathedral, dates from the 16th century and was quirky and interesting due to this. We paid over £200 per night for our 3-night stay and felt that this was much too much for what we got. The room was quiet and a reasonable size but the bathroom was tiny and there were signs of mould between the tiles and sealant. The finish of the bathroom was poor. On the plus side the fan provided was very effective and, as mentioned before, the staff were excellent.

Summary: We didn’t really use any of the hotel amenities. We were there only one night and just slept there. I didn’t realize though that there was no air conditioning and of course it was a heat wave happening and there was no elevator. The staff was very helpful with carrying our 4 pieces of luggage up some very step stairs to our room. We left at 4am, so we did not use the free breakfast.

Summary: Convenient to city center and very historic. Staff was great and room was small but had everything we needed.
