Positive: Close to the train station and downtown easily accessible by buses and minimetro station also in easy walking distance. Rooftop pool was really nice. Whilst the rooms are dated, they are quite clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and kind. Even though overlooking a busy road, room was quite, really good sound insulation between rooms and from the street!
Negative: Building and rooms really dated, need for renovation.
Chocolate theme is way too overkill, and as for the breakfast, this amount of food and options is really wasteful, most of it probably ends in the trash which I also really didn't like + quality of food at breakfast is low.
There was no sign to hang on the door to e.g. request no cleaning and there is no kettle in the room.
Walking around near the hotel and near the train station can be a bit sketchy at nighttime.
Summary: Dated but comfortable, chocolate theme way too overkill

it is worth while to mention this incident. by accident I left my vest in the lobby and I went to my room, the staff found it and they saved it all night, my vest contained my wallet and quite amount of money... thank you Chocohotel

We seemed to have issues with AC, but given lateness did not address until AM with staff.

Lovely helpful staff at check in and at the awesome breakfast buffet.
We found the room comfortable, with great air conditioning. Transport into the old town was easy since the bus stop is right across the road, and some nights we walked back.
We bought the ten ride bus tickets at the train station on our arrival and this made things easy for us.
The breakfast buffet drew us to Perugia and it was lovrey, especially the hot chocolate, but the town is just beautiful. We visited the chocolate museum in the town square and loved it, including the opportunity to make our own chocolate bar which we took home.
