Coolfont Resort | Hotel in Berkeley Springs

The staff was very friendly. The lodge where you check in and the restaurant attached was beautiful! We didn't get a hot tub in our cabin....I thought I booked that, but apparently not. We went to swimming pool that had jacuzzi tub attached , but this was as cold as the pool water. There was a sauna in this pool room but it was not working or installed yet and had bags of potting soil in it. We were a little disappointed about that, but otherwise very happy. Our little cabin was peaceful.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this charming cabin and our kids are already asking when we can go back. The location is perfect—close enough to explore downtown Berkeley Springs but far enough to feel like a real escape. The cabin itself has so much character. Our kids absolutely loved having their own space on the second floor, which gave us some peace and quiet downstairs. The bathrooms are a highlight—that big soaking tub was a huge hit with the whole family, and we found ourselves drawn to it every evening. The fire pit outside is fantastic for gathering as a family, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying the mountain air. We also ate at the on-site restaurant, which was convenient and had solid options—a nice bonus when you don't want to pack the kids back into the car after a full day. One small note: the cabin could use a bit more air circulation or freshening between guests (it had that closed-up smell), but nothing a few open windows didn't help with pretty quickly. All in all, this is a great spot for families looking for a relaxing mountain weekend with good amenities and thoughtful touches. Would definitely recommend and would happily return.

We had a great time there. The place is really nice the staff is great. The cabins are amazing and the fishing is always fun if u like fishing. What a great time with the family for a very reasonable price. WE REALLY ENJOY IT THERE AT COOL FONT😎. I really enjoy the jacuzzi. The only thing is its hard to get in an out of. It's to high for little lags like myself 😆 but all an all I love it..

Its a wonderful place to stay. The people are friendly. The staff was great. The road is a little rough to get to the property. All in all I would give it 4.5 stars. Very quiet love the little cottages. If you are looking for a quiet little place to get away. And relax. You should give it a try.

This is a great place to get away from the world. My wife and I stayed in a cabin as a base to hike at parks around the area. It was nice to come back and use the soak tub after hiking each day. Berkeley springs is a nice little town. They have many family owned restaurants with great food. We plan on returning to the cool font to stay in a cabin again.

Easy check-in at the front desk made for a smooth arrival. The cabin itself was spotless, and we loved the extra blankets and pillows, which made it feel cozy and well-stocked from the moment we walked in. The space heater/fireplace, fridge and mini kitchenette were a nice bonus. We brought snacks from home and mostly explored dining in town, but having that little setup made everything more convenient. Speaking of town, highly recommend the Cacapon Mountain Brewery and the Cardinal Bar… both great spots worth building your evening around. The road leading up to the cabin is a bit bumpy, but honestly? It only added to the charm. It felt like you were really getting away from it all, and by the time you arrived, you were fully in cabin mode. Would definitely stay again!

Best: walk to dinner at the brewery followed by an illicit swim by the dam. Worst: amenities broken or under construction and no access to the view. I passed up identically priced rooms in town and chose to stay at Coolfont based on photos of the pool and the lovely green setting. The first sign of a problem was an eroded bare slope and graded dirt pond edge behind a recently constructed shell of a future restaurant. On the door of another building was the dreaded ‘pool is not in service’. Our room was in the basement of a building across the road. The room was spotless, with two 2 x 3 ft windows looking over the parking lot and a vanity built of 2 x 4s. There was literally no place to sit to enjoy the view. Not in or near our room, not on the dock, not beside the pond. No chairs, either. This is clearly a property in transition. If you choose to stay here, call ahead to find out what is actually available.

We stayed for two nights in a lovely cabin. We had the king bed, 2 queens, fireplace, and 2 jet tubs cabin. Beautiful location, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave us information about things to do and see, restaurants and markets. Clear directions to our cabin with a map of the property made our arrival pleasant. The cabin had a tiny kitchen sink, microwave and mini fridge, was very clean, ample thick towels, bathtubs were excellent.The beds were very comfortable. Our cabin had a sizable balcony/deck with outdoor chairs. There is also a picnic table, small fire area and charcoal grill. Just everything you could possibly want while staying in a cabin in the mountains for a getaway!

Cabin was the perfect size for 2 people and for like a weekend stay. Was very clean and a really cute A frame cabin!
