Courtyard by Marriott Munich Garching | Hotel in Munchen District, Bavaria

“5/5 - Very nice and modern hotel in the university zone. A few meters away from the Atomic Egg, and research facilities and some high tech industry. Staff are well trained, is outside any downtown type crime, very safe. Hotel restaurant offers an excellent breakfast buffet. And decent quality lunch and dinner menus. The area is quite quiet (in August, anyways) and some forested areas nearby. Probably safe for a jog, and I believe the hotel has a fleet of bicycles available. Only a hundred meters or less from the local U6 station. Very easy to get to the old city and other districts of Munich. Only negative is that there are no nearby groceries - and I think the two bigger groceries a bit further away are closed on Sunday. The hotel charges too much for the bottled water and sodas, no reason for that.”

“All in all a good hotel. I'd expect more from a 4star hotel. For example, the towels were really bad quality. Breakfast was fine.”

“The first room we were sent to was smelling and they moved us to a different room which their safety deposit box wasn't operating. We called the front desk and told them about the problem. After about half an hour a person came to our room and tried to fix it , and told us that he doesn't know what is the problem with the safe. The following day two people came in our room and the safe wasn't finally fixed. We had a dinner invitation in Munich Central the first night , but we didn't want to leave our room with our valuables in the room or leave the room and carry our valuables with us . Unfortunately we missed our meeting and dinner invitation at the first night of our stay.”

“I am a well travelled person who has stayed a lot in hotels and so know a thing or two about hotels. I was an international travel checking in to the Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Munich at Garching, Germany. The lady who checked me in was very rude and not at all in a mood to talk to me or answer any of my questions. She was holding my credit card for a much higher amount than what I had booked the hotel room. When I showed her my online reservation confirmation, she was not very nice and did hold the amount that I had booked for plus for any unexpected charges that I may incur which is a normal practice in many hotels and I understand that. I asked her about breakfast and she rudely told me a rate that was not what I was told when I was booking the hotel room. Again, I would have been okay had she spoken properly to me. In short, I expected top be treated a little better than the treatment I received at this Marriott.”
