I really loved staying here, it is extremely quiet and peaceful place to be. I will definitely return soon

It's a fine place to stay for a night. Clean and quaint. The bed was comfortable but the chairs are all old and the padding has deteriorated. Bring a hair dryer. And games, there's not a lot to do there.

This place had much of what I was expecting from a historic hotel. The lobby is spacious with lovely architectural details. The grand staircase and hallways are cool. The furniture is period appropriate, and the woodwork everywhere is nice and old, as it should be. Interesting place to stay. My room was very clean, but not well maintained. The carpeting was visibly stained in multiple spots. The bathroom floor was 80s linoleum with missing caulk along the base of the tub and visible wetness of wood below. and the towel bar was detaching from the wall. There were several patched holes in the wall. The bed was comfortable, and a cool piece of furnture, as was the armoir. The table and chairs in the room looked like they came from the same 80's diner where the linoleum was from. The door had duct tape over the deadbolt (all the doors did), I think to keep you from using the key in it. The proprietor was friendly and helpful when asked questions, however there was not much information provided at check-in, and the only information in the room was a flyer in the door from the previous owners with info about the bar that no longer is running and the restaurant that is no longer running, and a wifi password that does not work. It made me google, and it looks like it was an awesome place from 2020-2023, but now is just a place to stay. In short, it's fine, has lots of potential, but the attention to detail and experience creation is not there right now.

Loved it! Old hotel renovated with modern bathrooms. If you like antiques you will like this. Then go see the caves!!

This is a well-maintained old hotel with all of its charm, but an updated bathroom.

Really cool hotel. Like going back in time. Retro aesthetic. Cool and even creepy but in a good way! I would stay again. Bed wasn't the most comfortable. Shower was and was really nice. Wish I could have stayed longer but was just passing through! Thank you! The gentlemen at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. I didn't catch his name but thank you!

Our room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was quiet. The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful. We will stay there again if in the area again.

The Decker Hotel is an amazing place. Like going back in history. The antique decor and old pictures of the place are great. We had a spacious room with a jacuzzi and a four-poster king size bed. Located right in downtown Maquoketa and walking distance to shops, restaurants and the brewery.
