Positive:
Perfect location, easy access good communications.
Negative:
The property is need of an update. It was cold and I did not see any instructions for the heating system. I think the owners underestimate the standard customers expect at that price. Booking.com should provide better advice.

Positive:
The bed was really comfortable, and it was extremely quiet: not a sound from traffic.
Negative:
The father of the owner met us on arrival just after 6pm and said that his daughter had been taken into hospital which was why he was there. He said that that the heating is set to be on from 6pm to 9pm.
The accommodation was really, really cold - I can only assume that heating hadn't been on for a long time: there was an electric convector heater in the bedroom and we took it through to the lounge whilst we were in there. It took ages for hot water to come through in any of the taps, and the bathroom shower and curtain needs updating.
There was no heating when we got up the following morning, so we left an hour earlier than we needed to just so that we could warm up in the car!
All in all, £85 for this accommodation is very over-priced., and it is in need of some serious updating overall.
Summary: Not a warm and cosy stay, but at least it was quiet!

Positive:
The property is in a good location, with close links to the main towns close by.
The property was comfortable, but a little dated.
Negative:
I informed the hosts of the time of my arrival, but when I entered the property, it was freezing and 2c outside.
I received a welcome message with a contact number for any problems.
I called the number to enquire how the heating could be put on, but it went to voice mail, twice. I knocked on the front door, but no answer.
Fortunately, I was staying with friends and was able to spend time with them where it was warm. I was just getting over a bout of flu, so this wasn't the best scenario.
I went back to the apartment at 9pm and it was warmer, but the radiators were not very hot, I can only assume it is all controlled from inside the house.
When I went to the bathroom in the early hours, the heating had been turned off, and it was very cold, there wasn't any heating in the bathroom at all.
I appreciate that energy prices are expensive, but I would have thought that the comfort of paying guests was of paramount importance, the only saving grace was an electric heater in the bedroom.
I would not recommend staying there in the winter, which is a shame because the rural location is lovely.
Summary: Cold in the winter

Positive:
Nice rural location with lovely views over the countryside. A good area to explore from.
Father of host helped us out with finding the heating controls.
Bed was comfortable.
Negative:
Property was very cold despite having given an arrival time no heating was on when we arrived. Calls and messages sent to host went to answer phone and not returned. Bathroom needs a comply overall and the apartment was dirty. Hot water takes far too long and not very eco. Needs extractor fan in kitchen to help with the condensation from cooking and boiler fumes.
