So this hotel is not a hotel anymore. Not sure how I was able to book it. It is now a homeless shelter
The fire alarm went off around 3:00 a.m., and guests had to walk down 38 flights of stairs only to find out it was a false alarm. What was most frustrating was that there was no announcement or update from the staff about what was happening. To make matters worse, while walking down the stairs, I noticed a bed partially blocking the staircase on the 21st floor, which was pretty concerning during an emergency evacuation. I was also disappointed by how my early checkout request was handled. Due to an unexpected family emergency, I needed to leave before the end of my stay and reached out to ask if anything could be done for the unused night. The response was simply that they could not accommodate the request. Between the lack of communication during the alarm, the obstruction in the stairwell, and the handling of my family emergency, this was not the experience I expected.
The process was easy. We had good communications with staff. We will return.
