“I booked this place for a week's holiday to chill, relax in nature and get in some great hiking. That's exactly what I got. I loved it. I read a review about it being dirty. Absolute nonsense. If you want the Ritz go to the Ritz. It's a farm house next to a farm. It reminded me of my Grandparents farmhouse when I was young. Warm, comfortable and charming. The sheep are literally at your front window. I sat outside a few evenings having a drink and just watched hundreds of Swifts and other bird life swirling around the roof top. Honestly it was magic. The surrounding area is stunning. I've never explored Caldbeck and the North Lakes before. It's beautiful I recommend climbing a little Wainwright up the road called Binsey. Only small but great views to the Mountains of Keswick and also Scotland. I hiked Catbells, Dalehead and Haystacks. All of them reached in 30 to 45 minutes drive. Also Caldbeck it's self is a hidden gem. Beautiful village with cafes, shops, a river walk and a brilliant pub with fantastic food. The landlord actually gave me and my mate who came to visit a lift home one night to save us the walk. Ask him to smoke your whisky if that's your thing. Really impressive. Also the beds are maybe the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I'm not just saying that. Also the shower was superb. As was the kitchen facilities. Honesty I was gutted to leave and go back to real life. I can't wait to stop again. Honestly one of the best holidays I've had.”
