Negative: There was the famous Cassis sewage smell from drains but we discovered that closing the drains and filling sinks with water eliminated it completely! Lighting was too bright.

I was quite unhappy. I had not read right down a the bottom of the advertisement in small print that check in closed at 9pm which was too late for our flight arrival. So when I was asked 48 hours before arrival what would be our arrival time, 1 said 10-11pm (expecting to find a lock box) I was flatly told no, that was too late and I would not be able to arrive at this hour. So we incurred an extra night's accommodation. Then when we were less than an hour from the property I received a text asking if I needed extra linen? This actually meant did I want sheets on the bed and towels!!! This was an extra charge too which I found hugely annoying. I hasten to add that the owners were absolutely delightful, this was the management company.

The view is the most spectacular you could imagine. Even better than the photos. The apartment is also nicer than the photos show. Very modern, spacious. The terrace is wonderful and large, the living/dining area is huge, sunny, comfortable. Bedroom is small, but good storage. Bathroom is also very large and modern, with plenty of storage and a very large shower. Kitchen is tiny, 2 burner stove, small fridge, small dishwasher, lots of storage, microwave, toaster, pod coffee maker. DOn't plan on cooking ALOT, but was great for spaghetti and sautéing veggies, and breakfast. Very comfy beds, good a/c. Gated parking right on the premises was divine to have in a town like Cassis. Short 7 min. walk to beach and the town (but uphill going home. Not that hard)
Negative:
Sewage smell from w/c room, but that is common in all Cassis apartments. Opening the window in the w/c room solved the problem. While the apartment is beautiful and we had a wonderful 5 nights, the booking.com site is rather misleading on what you will pay when you confirm. AFTER you confirm a non-refundable reservation -- then you suddenly get notice that there is an 80 euro cleaning fee. A day later, the management company messages you to say there is ALSO a city tax (that's ok and normal though) PLUS a 26 euro pp LINEN fee. and we had to pay cash for these extras when we arrived. It all added up to an extra 200 euros from what I confirmed on booking.com. And 26 euros per person for a total of 4 towels and one pair of sheets is exorbitant. They were fine towels and sheets but not luxury, and no face cloths or extra towels. Again, my issue is not with the apartment -- it's that you get hit with surprise costs AFTER you confirm, and it's non refundable. This was more expensive than we were planning to spend. BUT -- it is a gorgeous apartment with wonderful views. This is just so you know to expect more fees.
