“We found the young staff v helpful and friendly. We are both older travellers and walk with the aid of sticks but we were confident they would help us if we needed them too. Breakfast choice was amazing and lovely linen table cloths.”

“Lovely country property, with ample parking & grounds. The hotel appears to regularly cater for weddings as a venue, and as such is suitably equipped. Accessibility for those with restricted movement or chairs may be a little challenging, however the staff are very helpful and would certainly have solutions. It's an old manor house after all......... The room was large, tastefully period fitted & decorated, with ample space. Comfortable bed & mattress, clean and fragrant towels & sheets. As a converted barn room, there are still "residents" (spiders) which I personally have no issues with whatsoever, and some discreet cobwebs up high in the rafter ceiling area. Some may have an issue with this, however it is not a sign of being unclean ; it's the sign of a building which is 100's of years old ! Breakfast was good : Full English was ordered, and it was nicely presented & tasty, along with being just the right size. The coffee was plentiful (alas, for my tastes it was too mild. Have had far worse at more prestigious hotels : Having an option of stronger roasted coffee would have been excellent). A great value stay. Will definitely be using the venue in the future. Staff are lovely, the quiet tranquil setting & wildlife reminded me of home, and food is good. They also have excellent GF & vegetarian options on the menu.”

“Room was very clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom needed maintenance, just a bath with mixer taps which didn’t work. Had to fill the bath from the hand shower head. Toilet was difficult to flush. Property is old and getting a little shabby. Breakfast was excellent.”

“This place is an absolute Diamond. The staff are fantastic. The food is great and the views are stealing.”

“This hotel is in an old building and it shows in places. The shower was poor and the hot water took a long time to arrive, windows didn't open properly and the TV wouldn't show terrestrial channels (we reported this but the hotel staff couldn't make it work). On the plus side, the breakfast menu was excellent with great, freshly prepared dishes and homemade bread and served by an extremely helpful member of staff. But this was let down slightly by the cheap, nasty, plastic packets of jam which seemed at odds with the quality of the rest. This is primarily a wedding venue but a very nice place to stay midweek, quiet and comfortable.”

“Very helpful staff, very good restaurant, beautiful well maintained grounds, good parking. Room could have done with slightly more modern amenities(wardrobe, better shower, bigger bed) but this is after all a very interesting old building!!”

“Just love stopping here. The food is really first class and the staff are lovely. We stay here on the way or way back from our sons in Somerset. It has weddings on a weekend and the restaurant closes on a Monday so we do try to fit our travel plans in so we can stop here.”

“Received a warm welcome by a young polite gentleman. Gave us good advice on a trip we were planning whilst showing us to our room which was large and clean. Personally I would have preferred a shower but the corner bath was fine. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is an old building in need of some restoration but it has lots of charm. Unable to comment on the evening meal but there was a good choice to be had for breakfast and was cooked to order. Its not 5 star but would certainly recommend it”
