Positive:
Beautiful room in Japanese style old house. Refreshing after being in modern hotels in major cities. Western style chairs and table as well as Japanese setting. Sound of water flowing past. We enjoyed a hamburger from the cafe. A nice setting to relax and enjoy the evening.
Negative:
The onsen bathroom was a bit small for 2 people at one time. Beds on the floor a little hard but beautiful bedding.
Summary: Loved our overnight stay. Thank you to the lovely staff.

Positive:
Loved the cosy warm atmosphere of this place! The staff were really friendly, and I enjoyed eating a vegan burger at the restaurant on the first floor. The private onsen was really lovely and relaxing to use!
Negative:
The hinoki onsen was not available for use when we visited! We were still able to use the other bath, but would love to go back when both are in working condition!

Positive:
Nice traditional rooms with lots of character. The private onsen downstairs was a very nice addition, we thoroughly enjoyed the burger at Box Burger downstairs, our son loved his sleep on the futon on the tatami mat, the self-service breakfast was decent.
Negative:
The double room was very cramped with no room to place or open our suitcases nor anywhere to put your clothes. Luckily, we had booked the other room where our son slept to put our luggage. The door hinges were sqeaky and could do with some WD40 sprayed on them. The water dispenser on the landing for drinking water stopped working for some reason, so the water ran out.
Summary: A pleasant stay!

Positive:
Very Japanese experience. No fuss, self-reliant centric. The room was very neat and clean. The bedding was stored neatly and ready to be made up. The small onsen is in the basement, so another set of stairs, but it was lovely. The breakfast included creamy tomato soup and very nice brioche-style bread. The Box Burger on the ground floor was an added bonus. The burgers are very, very good.
Negative:
I would recommend this property to fairly fit people. We had to carry our luggage up a steep flight of stairs to get to our room. The traditional futon beds are not set up for you at bed time, so you have to do that yourself. The shared Toto toilet was very clean but in a small space just off the main walkthrough for the three rooms-not terribly private-but we didn’t feel this was a problem.
Summary: We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for economy and traditional Japanese style accommodations

Positive:
Super friendly staff. The onsen was great and the reservation system is very helpful. The building and rooms are beautiful. The bathroom is shared but there are only three rooms in total, so there was no problem about it being too busy.
Negative:
Room was a bit crammed if you have luggage but it’s fine for one or two nights.
Summary: Nice experience in a traditional Japanese building
