First and foremost, the staff were very sweet and kind, which goes a very long way! The place is more like a pensione than a hotel. It didn't seem as though anyone had any training in the hospitality industry, which added to the language barrier. Two of the young men working reception had passable English skills, but I had to speak slowly and clearly, in simple sentences. The morning breakfast is unimaginative and worth skipping. Even on a shoestring budget, it is possible to present a lovely breakfast for guests, especially given the wonderful fruits and veg available in Trabzon, not to mention the lovely pastries available--you will be spared that at breakfast. The cleaning ladies were marvelous and sweet and kept the room clean and tidy. The room itself was dark and tiny with two small single beds, separated by a heavy, clunky nightstand. The place didn't have any amenities like a gym, pool, or spa. The internet was okay and there was, apparently parking. The best part about the place is that it is about 20 steps away from the main square and the heart of the Ortahisar neighborhood, which made up for much. Overall, it was an okay and inexpensive, clean, but uninteresting and not someplace that I would necessarily return to.
Great hotel to stay in. Location is ideal for walking around town with shops nearby. Staff of the Hotel were polite and helpful. The room was clean and pretty spacious. We enjoyed our brief stay and would not mind staying again there on our next visit. Thanks to the Staff once again.
