Hotel Chiniu Reviews
Reviewer Type: Couple
Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The pool area is really good vibes, with comfy / padded sunbeds (not always the case in Colombia!!) Good sized rooms with comfy bed and good AC. Plus a fridge to keep the water cold. Short walk into Palomino centre along the beach. Staff were so helpful and made delicious cocktails.
Negative: The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the rooms - not a problem for us but just to note. The breakfast was ok but the coffee could have been better.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff! Very good a la carte breakfast. Tasty meals at any time in the restaurant. Well maintained facilities.

Have a dictionary or translation app ready if you don’t speak Spanish. Having said that, all staff are very patient and endeavour to meet all requirements you may have.

Positive:
My girlfriend and I spent a weekend at Hotel Chiniu. Our experience was a bit bumpy: we booked a deluxe room with an ocean view, but the one we were given didn’t have a direct view. On top of that, we had an electrical issue that affected only our room; the first night it was fixed after about an hour, but the second night it happened again and we were moved to another room.
On the positive side, the staff was always very kind and offered quick solutions and alternatives to each situation. They even offered us a discount for the affected nights, which we used for consumption at the hotel.
The restaurant food didn’t particularly impress me, although it wasn’t bad. I suggest including beverage prices on the menu, as they are not currently listed. Nearby, within a short walk along the beach, there are other hotels with more appealing food options at better prices.
In summary, although the stay was uncomfortable due to the inconveniences, I left satisfied with the staff’s friendliness and willingness to improve our experience.
Negative:
The room you were given was not the deluxe ocean-view room you had booked. Electrical issues affected only your room, happening on both nights of your stay. The restaurant food was underwhelming. Beverage prices were not listed on the menu. Nearby hotels offered better food at better prices.
Summary: Stay with ups and downs, but excellent staff service
