Hotel Initial Tainan

Positive: The location

Negative: Wifi doesn’t work multiple times and took a while to fix it.

Positive: Loved the layout of the room, the mattress were extremely comfortable. Location is great, lots of food places nearby.

Negative: The light on the mirror was not working and the toilet smelt like a bad toilet pipe problem.

Positive: The clean environment and interior design of the room. Availability of electrical sockets at strategic locations within the room. The hairdryer was a plus point - a Dyson dope with strong blowing power. Hotel staff - Mr. Zhe Qing and Ms. Chen was really friendly and provided awesome hotel service during our short stay in Tainan.

Negative: There was no clock in the room for us to check time easily. Not enough clothes hanger for us to use.

Positive: Clean and comfortable; excellent location, could walk everywhere

Positive: The location was good. Close to amenities and walking distance to many good places to visit.

Negative: The housekeeping service should focus on more thorough cleaning. We discovered nuts, trash, and dust and hair at the edge of the bed, and despite requesting for more cleaning, these remained.

Positive: Conveniently located near Tainan centre. Easy to drive around to other places like Chimei Museum.

Positive: It was a beautiful looking room with a beautiful view of the city. The bed was reasonably comfortable and there was definitely enough space.

Negative: We had a lot of technical/service issues with the room. 1. At check in (we checked in at about 9 pm) we were asked if we wanted the room to be cleaned the next day. Given that we checked in so late we obviously didn’t see the need for it to be cleaned so soon. What was not explained was that this meant no one would come for the entirety of our 5 night stay without direct calls to the front desk asking for supplies despite us alerting the front desk that this was happening and putting the sign out every day to request a cleaning. We did not mind so much about tidying beds and whatnot, but we had to call for toilet paper several times, and rubbish would not be collected so we had no choice but to pile it around the small bin. When we first checked in 2 proper toilet rolls were provided, but any replacements thereafter were packets of facial tissues which they surely should know cannot be flushed as the do not disintegrate in the system - I worry for their pipes! 2. A major issue was the internet/wifi. For the first 3 full days of our stay the internet was so bad that at times the system would fully reset every few minutes randomly. This completely reset the TV/any logins that we had. We couldn’t even use the wifi on our devices at these times (as international travellers this was a huge issue). We alerted the front desk about this each day - they said they would call the “company”. It took 3 full days for someone to come and have an actual look at the modem behind the television. At first the concierge tried to tell me that when it happened I was to pull the cord out of the modem to reset it (really modern fix 🤦‍♀️) only for him to realise how dodgy the modem was in his own hands as the modem reset multiple times as he was holding it. He then conceded that it was faulty and replaced it. Honestly, just would have been nice to be taken seriously on the first instance and not have had it dragged out so frustratingly. 3.
