Hotel Kapok Wuxi Reviews
“This was a very nice hotel. Spacious room, window seat, large bed, and a unique bathroom setup. We were impressed with the lobby and other features as well from the time we arrived. Desk staff spoke some English, but no one else we encountered did. The restaurant was ok, very large portions for the price but not our favorite meal on our trip. They have old signage so we didn't know if it opened at 5 or 5:30. Their room key folder says they have a shuttle, but the desk said they haven't had one for over a year. The room packet says there's a happy hour in the wine bar but we couldn't find any deal when we went down. The facilities overall were great but could use light updating, and they need to throw away all their towels! Even using the Do Not Disturb light, our room was turned every day but every set of towels was riddled with holes and ragged on the ends. Very quiet hotel, and nice location on the river, but away from everything. Metro is a 20 minute walk, must be why it's more directed as a business hotel and not for tourists, we got a great deal of walking done. But a beautiful city to walk through! I would stay here again for sure, it was a nice change from the big cities and a very nice hotel for the price”
“Well, it is a hotel I will always choose when I am on business trip to Wuxi, since it is nearby the company I always visit. Overall, it is a nice hotel with a reasonable price and good location. However, I felt a little uncomfortable when I checked in this time. When I arrived, and showed the reservation confirmation email to the staff, they said the can't find it in the system, so I have to call hotels.com,.The guy who picked up the phone did find the reservation on hotels.com's system, and he tried to help, but another problem occur, he speaks only English, then I have to be a translator.(not a problem for me actually, but I noticed that there are only two language options when I dial the hotline, one is Cantonese, another one is English. It will be much more convenient to have Mandarin options added)Luckily, the staff let me checked in first, and leave that communication problem to their reservation department, and it took one day for them to solve that problem. It is good that the staff of both Kapok Hotel and Hotels.com were trying their best to help me, so I believe that it won't happen again and will will Hotels.com to make reservation.”
“This is a modern hotel with comfortable, functional rooms. It has pleasant views of the Grand Canal and easy access to downtown.”
