Hotel Kompas | Hotel in Babin Kuk, Dubrovnik-Neretva

“Perfect location to access bus lines and restaurants, all within walking distance. Access to the Adriatic was right in front of the hotel. The hotel pool has ample lounge chairs seating which included towels and access to the bar. The daily breakfast got us started every morning so we could start our in a timely manner. One note of caution, access to the shower/bathtub in our room could be challenging for people with limited hip mobility or unsteady gait due to the height of the tub. Aside from that, could not ask for anything else.”

“Excellent location. Close to bars and restaurants. Lovely views from sea view room. Close to the beach. Regular buses into Dubrovnik. Alternatively, easy to use Uber. Friendly, helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. We would definitely recommend this hotel.”

“We loved this hotel! Gorgeous views and beautiful location. The pool was great, so was the breakfast and the dinning area. The lounge was also stunning with breathtaking views of the sunset. Everything about our stay made us so sad to leave!! Loved the nightly turn down service and the very comfortable room. Our view was amazing, Everyone has a deck, which helped with drying bathing suits etc. The location on Sunset Beach was perfect. We walked the beautiful seaside path and enjoyed the restaurants. Every request made at the hotel was met with "of course we will be happy to do that". Cons: Staff at check-in told us very little about the hotel and our stay. They said nothing about breakfast, we inquired later asking if it was included and if so what were the hours. We were also not asked if we wanted the bed to be made up like a king so finally after sleeping in two twins for two nights, I asked to have it changed, which they happily did for us. But again I wish they offered that at check in. Last con: As Americans, the most difficult thing about traveling in Europe is the smoking. They allow smoking outside in restaurants and my the pool area. The smoking by the pool was awful!! We would give the pool area a 5 star if it weren't for the smoking guests. Keep this in mind. If you are from the west coast esp. in the US where no one smokes anymore, this is very difficult. We left prematurely each time we tryed to enjoy the pool because of the smoke.”

“The overall experience was amazing, it is a really special hotel offering the best position In Lapad bay, with stunning views and easy access to everything. And the thing for us that really topped it was the private loungers a short distance along the sea front, although we were surprised that this is not really mentioned as one of the benefits, which we believe it very much is! Just a lovely place to stay and relax- thank you.”

“We stayed just one night at Hotel Kompass before joining a group tour at another location. Staff were very accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable with great views over the Adriatic. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner and a wonderful walking path just outside of the hotel to explore the area.”

“The hotel Kompass is located in a beautiful spot by the sea yet close enough to the old town that you can go there in 10mn. The staff was very helpful , always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were all taken care off. A special mention to Martina at breakfast thanks to whom we always started our days with a big smile. The pool was clean with enough chairs for everyone. Lots of restaurants at a walking distance. The view was amazing from the balcony. We really enjoyed our stay.”
