King William Pub with Rooms | Hotel in Combe Down, England

“Really enjoyed our stay at this characterful pub with rooms. Thoughtfully decorated rooms, very friendly staff, excellent food and good breakfast. The manager in charge couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and was super efficient and smiley. Recommended if you like places with history and character.”

“Overall we had a nice stay accompanied by a good breakfast. The room was compact with a small shower room. It was a little strange having people sitting directly outside the room in the courtyard having drinks and food, you have to shut the blind when you wanted a shower or get changed. There were no plug sockets near a mirror for ladies, and nowhere to sit with a mirror to do makeup. The kettle lead was so short you have to unplug (didn't have a separate base) to pour the water into the cups, there was no milk so you have to ask in the pub generally when you wanted a hot drink, some uht milk would have done. For the price we were a little disappointed compared to other hotels we have stayed in.”

“The hosts were absolutely lovely. So welcoming. And the staff went out of their way to help . The beds were sooooo comfy and duvets and pillows top quality. All very very clean . Great place to stay , so quiet would definitely recommend. You need to catch the number 2 bus out of Bath , if you don’t feel like walking up the hill back to King William. It’s”

“We had a lovely stay for 2 nights with our old blind French bulldog. The staff were very friendly and we loved our room. Great breakfast too!”

“Stayed for 2 nights, room was very big and clean and a nice view of the Westbury White Horse. Unfortunately there was no food served on the Monday/Tuesday night I stayed but the breakfast was exceptional, had the full breakfast and the avacado with poached eggs. All the ingredients are local and you can tell. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again in the future.”

“The room was very good and a perfect size for the 2 of us and our West Highland Terrier. We particularly liked the architecture and general look of the interior and exterior. Breakfast was excellent and the staff engaging. We also had cause to contact the owner, who was extremely helpful. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Bath.”

“We loved our stay here. Stylish, spacious and comfortable room with a modern bathroom. The pub and rooms had been recently refurbished with great care. We stayed in room 8 which backed out onto the courtyard behind the pub and had velux windows which you could watch the stars through. Despite being part of a pub, we found our room to be very quiet after 9pm. Breakfast was fantastic, the veggie option was delicious and the ingredients felt very high quality. Top notch poached eggs too! We ended up having dinner at the pub twice and it was great. Good beer and wine selection too. Shout out to Laura and Will for being wonderful and attentive. We parked at the pub and used it as our base to get the short bus into Bath - you could also easily get a bus from Bath to stay here if coming by train. We both said we’d come back in a heartbeat.”
