“I stayed in early June ( out of season in the area) the hotel was in effect closed, no staff there ( just someone who came to check us in ) so no bar or food. No option for breakfast. I think we were to only two staying there. It was a one night stay (thankfully) and in the morning we had no Hot Water, just packed and left as no staff around. I understand owners and staff want holidays in the off season but then they should just have closed the hotel for a few weeks. Only positive point was safe parking outside for our motorbikes. ”

“Pros: Picturesque, historic lodge nestled in hillside village of Casau above Vielha. Short stroll to panoramic views. 5-star welcome and smooth check-in, owners speak English. Tasty order-made (due to COVID) breakfast available at extra charge. Common spaces and rooms are cozy and rustic. Blackout shutters in room. Outstanding value. Cons: Access difficult without car, views of valley from property are obstructed by surrounding buildings, narrow staircase to rooms, slight odor from plumbing and strong air freshener in room, no bidet in bathroom, owners smoked (outside).”
