stayed 7/24-30, multi family trip, ages 11-65. had fun! spacious, tons of potential, needs some serious TLC if they continue to rent. a/c went out on the second day. owner sent a tech right away and eventually the issue was fixed. tv in the basement only has 4 cannels - all PBS. that tv (along with all of the stereo and dj equipment) was useless. owner should remove equipment - takes up tons of space and didn't work. tv should be updated to smart tv. middle floor has smart tv. kitchen was spacious but the countertops were filled with too many small appliances, not enough countertop space. lots of random utensils. stovetop worked but the oven did not, unable to cook several meals that we had already bought groceries for. top floor bedrooms were comfy bc they had window a/c units. beds were ok, nothing fancy but all were comfy enough for us. SO MANY wasp nests on the property - needs some serious pest control. boat ran but was rundown and had several wasp nests in it. kayak had no paddles. lake was not swimmable- we drove 40mins to beach to swim several days. lots of animal remains on the property. need more garbage bins outside! could have been cleaner - clumps of hair and socks under couches when moved, bugs in tub and sinks, etc. loose dog came on the property several times, unsafe. house met most of our needs. with TLC, house could be AMAZING! house would be 5/5 if owner removed unnecessary stuff, gave it some TLC, and made it more renter-focused, felt lived in.

This home has so much potential if the owner can find a way to better maintain it. They were receptive to our feedback and I hope for the next visitors the experience is better. On a positive note, the home is spacious, the area is private, and we had fun catching bluegill in the pond. However, when we arrived we had to strip the beds and rewash them before our first night sleep, deep clean the kitchen before prepping a meal, and sweep the floors. Here are some other things that did not meet our needs: + Beds had no top sheet + Fitted Sheets/Pillowcases on beds had spider webs, dead flies, and stains on them + Sheets and towels in drawers were balled up, unfolded, smelled of mildew + Dirty/used sheets were still in the basket dirty by the washer + Water came into room #4 during a rain storm through window + EVERY appliance has greasy dirt all over them + Cobwebs in the kitchen cabinets + Dead bugs in light fixtures + No extra paper towels or toilet paper + Not being able to flush TP in the toilets was not advertised + There was still garbage in the cans outside + Grass not cut by fire pit or shoreline + Canoe and kayak filled with stale water and pontoon boat was torn up and dirty + The outdoor grills were dirty and rusted + The home was so cluttered there was nowhere to unpack clothes or food We still made the best of it, we had no other choice, but were disappointed in how unprepared the house and outdoors were.
