A 9.99 out of 10! The property was located directly across the access road from the cove, on the water. It was quiet and relaxing, with Scottish Highland Cattle grazing in a nearby pasture. It was heated by a multi-fuel stove (wood burning and coal) which gave it a rustic feel with the comforting warmth of wood heat and provided the feel of a fireplace with the glass doors on the wood stove. It was very clean and welcoming, with throws and blankets available for the leather L-shaped couch, a dining table situated in front of a large window and a lovely little kitchenette area that included a washing machine for clothing. The bed was cozy with a thick, fluffy comforter and the adjoining bathroom was beautiful with partial subway-tiled walls and exposed limestone block on the exterior walls. The host provided matching robes and slippers for two guests (the cottage limit). Decor was simple, rustic and quite welcoming, with a bit of whimsical charm thrown in. There was no TV in the cottage, but a record player stood in the corner of the kitchen and a variety of musical options rested in the window seat for our listening pleasure. There was also a small radio, which we did not use, a box of board games and a variety of reading material available from entertaining to historical relevance, nature facts and plenty of maps and references for the area. There was plenty of wood and coal indoors for fuel, kindling, fire starters and matches - so that building a fire was very convenient, a dehumidifier to keep the cabin comfortable, a glass stovetop, oven, microwave and cooking utensils/pots/pans for the guest to use. Quaint dishes in the cupboards and freshly ground coffee in canisters in the kitchen, as well as a help-yourself "welcome whiskey" shelf. The host put together a book with information regarding the area that made it easy to locate what we needed for our stay.
Negative:
One observation (or very MINOR complaint) was that the shower enclosure could have used another glass panel or curtain to the enclosure to help retain heat in the shower area, but hot water and water pressure were abundant and fluffy guest towels, robes and slippers awaited upon exit.
Summary: It was absolutely lovely. A calm, quiet, comfortable place to end our travels.

Such a perfect place to stay on Skye! It was our first time in Scotland and honestly, Lusa Bothy is one of the highlights of our 10 day trip around the country.
You have the entire place to yourself - a huge living room with fully fitted kitchen (oven, microwave, kettle, everything you might possibly need is available).
They have board games, record player (but unfortunately someone before us must’ve broken it cause it wasn’t working well when we stayed), plenty of blankets, insect repellent, literally everything you need. The bed is very comfortable, bathroom is spacious. If you’re cold (like I always am) - there’s a fireplace, as well as a radiator in the bedroom.
The sitting areas near the windows in the living room was my favorite place to spend the evenings after a long day exploring Skye!
There’s also a dedicated parking space, a grill and seating area outside.
It was a bit hard to find but we managed, access is easy and you can do self check in and check out, which is also convenient.
You can see the water from your windows and sometimes highland cows can be spotted walking around the beach - we really enjoyed meeting them, as well as a bunch of cute cats living nearby and trying to get inside the Bothy (I don’t blame them!)
There’s a gas station and a big supermarket 10 min drive from the Bothy, which is very convenient.
It might not be the most central part of the isle but it’s definitely worth those 30 extra minutes you’ll spend driving to the touristy areas.
We really loved our stay at Lusa Bothy, and wish we stayed there longer. Definitely booking it again next time we visit Isle of Skye!
Negative:
WiFi would be nice cause mobile internet was now always working well.
Summary: This place alone is worth a trip to Skye!

Positive:
Really well decorated, homely feel to the place. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to detox / go off the grid for a few days. Comfortable bed, strong hot shower and has everything one would need. Jane provided a book with loads of great recommendations (highly recommend Gasta - Must try!). Waking up to the Coos made the stay all the better. Cannot recommend the Bothy enough
Negative:
Not a negative but worth noting it is an old stone building so it is naturally damp, but there is small dehumidifier provided to help. The Bothy is really well located between two towns (Broadford and Kyle of Lochalsh) but may be considered far from the Isle of Skye attractions, however the Bothy itself and how comfortable it was made it worth while
Summary: Everything you’d think the Isle of Skye is

What an amazing four-night stay at Lusa Bothy on the Isle of Skye. Such a beautiful, cozy, and peaceful place, it really feels like a proper escape. Waking up surrounded by nature and total quiet was something special.
The bothy is very clean and tidy and has everything you need. The fireplace (the bothy TV!) is amazing and makes the place extra cozy, the bed is really comfortable, and the views are absolutely stunning.
It’s a special place that’s clearly well cared for and should be treated with respect so others can enjoy it too.
Jane was fantastic super welcoming, quick to respond, and made us feel at home from the moment from arrival
I loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, authentic Skye experience.
Summary: Amazing, cozy and peaceful place surrounded by nature

Wow, what a beautiful and serene break we have just had at the bothy. The location is amazing, so calm and the landscape changes every time you look out of the windows, we will miss that view.
The bothy itself was wonderful, luxuriously rustic.
So many thoughtful touches from the hot water bottle, robes, slippers, the wee dram to Jane kindly lending me her slow cooker.
This break was everything we hoped for and more, the fine weather being the icing on the cake.
Negative:
Everything was perfect.
Summary: Simply stunning.
