Positive: Wonderful old building on an historic island. Nice to stay in a piece of history. Comfy beds, good kitchen. I would stay here again, for sure. I love the history of Fredrikstad and Widdingstua, the Magasinet's family studio, on Isegran Island is part of that. Free parking was a huge plus! And the short walk to the free ferry along the river was perfect to get us to Gamlebyen (Old Town) several times a day.
Negative: There was no mention of us having to clean the place before we left when I booked on booking.com. When we paid so 2250 NOK for one night, I expect not to have to clean up. The wifi wasn't working, we were told to try and fix it. At least when we messaged to tell staff that the wifi wasn't operational they responded fast. If this happens often, like they said in our messages, this is something that should be checked each time a guest checks out. This time someone had taken the router's extension chord! I'm glad we didn't get blamed for that. If we hadn't registered the problem, then we might have.
