Positive: A great hotel with a lovely welcome and fabulous staff. We had a high floor with great views over the river. Lots of water sports to watch when using the comfy sun beds on the balcony. The boat to the beach was good but you can walk if you wish to. The breakfast was varied and very good. We ate here for 5 nights and there was plenty choice. The staff went over and above to make us feel welcome. We had our choice of various table and they were all set to make us comfortable. On our last evening they dressed a beautiful table on the wooden pier, with paper flowers and romantic lights. We felt extremely special. After catching some great fish on their deep sea fishing trip, they cooked it and provided lovely vegetables and salad to accompany it. Attention to detail was well thought out. Thanks for the lovely elephant in our room (made from towels).
Negative: Nothing it was all excellent. Maybe they could offers different breads at breakfast time but this is just a suggestion not a need.
Summary: Great spot with plenty going on.

Negative: One of the room’s AC wasn’t working but the hotel helped with this by moving us to another room for a night. The bathroom plumbing was a little bit smelly.

Great location by the river. Good sized bedroom with comfy pillows, nice big bed. A/C and a fan. Small fridge & kettle with some free drinks. Lovely balcony and view (room 4). Breakfast was good and food menu fine
Negative:
A bit noisy if there were too many people doing water sports and you could hear the train bells at the crossing nearby - but the proximity of the river made up for this. But sadly the nice bathroom had low water pressure and no hot water.
Summary: Recommend for sure, but get the hot water sorted

Fantastic location. Wonderful view from balcony at all the activities on the river. Great for people watching. Large comfortable accommodation with good bed and excellent food (especially the curry and rice, give the kitchen 2 hours notice, it is worth it) and lovely, helpful staff.
Negative:
There was some noise from inconsiderate guests but eventually sorted and settled.
Summary: Unique, comfortable stay with great food and views.

Negative:
Very basic breakfast compared to other guest houses in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan omlet provided was the same as cheese omlet, very uncomparable to other facilities.
Linen on bed was dirty, need change.
Except 1 person on reception which was good no one else spoke english.
Summary: Passable stay in Bentota but lower quality than other guest houses

Great location right on the river and staff happy to take you to the beach 2 mins boat ride away. There we could use subbed in lovely resort of buying drinks and swim the warm ocean here. Fantastic spot we would happily return.

It is truly a wonderful experience
The hotel has the most magnificent views, staff exceptional, clean and great facilities.
The only issue I had was with the tv and wifi, both were swiftly and efficiently solved. Breakfast was lovely and we ate our evening meal there on 3 occasions, very good food.
We jet skied, went on a fishing trip and enjoyed the free ferry accross the river to the beach.
I would strongly recommend. We felt like we were trated like family.
