Our stay at Margarenia was simply unforgettable. The studio was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a cozy bed and a refreshing shower that made us feel right at home. Each morning began with a wholesome, generous breakfast, and the pool was the perfect place to unwind after exploring the island.
But what truly made this experience exceptional was the heartfelt hospitality of Angela and her lovely family—including her kind parents and their charming cats. Their thoughtful recommendations and local insights helped us discover the hidden gems of Santorini—because this island is so much more than just Oia and Fira. Our conversations with them gave us a deeper understanding of the island’s daily life and rich culture.
Margarenia is far more than just a hotel. You can feel the love and care in every detail—it’s a place crafted with soul.

Gorgeous hotel, very stylish decor, wonderful selection at breakfast and very helpful and welcoming staff. Close to a lovely shop, cafe and mini market.
Negative:
It is further from the town and beach than we realised and quite dangerous to walk on the roads so you really do need a car or be happy to get taxis (which we did).

Angela was the kindest employee we had ever met. As Margarenia is a family-owned business, they treated us with so much care and hospitality. We were given great restaurant recommendations, tips on where to travel in Santorini and Rome, Italy (as it is Angela's favorite city in Italy). We enjoyed how quiet our stay was, considering how Santorini is usually full of tourists and loud noise. The beach was about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and most places were walkable.
Negative:
As Santorini is a volcanic island, there are no elevators at Margarenia. As our family did not pack lightly, it was a bit of a struggle to carry our luggage to the third floor. Regardless, it was still a pleasant stay.
Summary: Margarenia is a wonderful, hospitable, and welcoming stay. We would definitely return again!

The vegan friendly breakfast on request was excellent - thank you so much for this! Warm welcome from friendly staff who had excellent knowledge of the island and we're very helpful with tips on what to see/do and how to get around with public transport. Room was immaculate and already cool for us on arrival. Quiet location away from main road with bus stop a 2 minute walk away and an easy 15-20 minute walk to the beach. Would be happy to stay again.

It was a pleasure for us to stay at Margarenia, and if we come back to Santorini, we’ll definitely stay here again. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and the beds were great. There were also cats around, and they take good care of them. Great job to the staff—especially to the little entertainer! 😸

The hotel was fantastic, with spacious rooms equipped with everything you need, including a safe, TV, a private kitchenette, and very good air conditioning. The hotel was also very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room beautifully every day, and the common areas, including the pool area, were spotless at all times.
The location was perfect for our needs – peaceful and quiet, yet just a short walk to the Beach strip with plenty of restaurants and easy access to other places like Oia and Fira.
The absolute best part of the hotel is definitely the staff. Our flight landed very early on the day of arrival, and while waiting for an early check-in – which they were very helpful with – Giorgio gave us a warm welcome. We were served coffee and a nice breakfast while we waited, and Angela made sure the housekeepers cleaned our room first so that we could check in as soon as possible.
Angela was absolutely amazing! She gave us tips and advice every day about places to visit – everything from which roads to take, where to park, good restaurants, and which tourist attractions to experience. One day we wanted to go on a spontaneous cruise, and she even checked the weather forecast for wind/waves and booked the trip for us right away. We could also see that she gladly took the time to help the other guests as well.
Angela was always cheerful and kind, and her tips and advice were truly invaluable to us and made our experience in Santorini absolutely perfect!
We highly recommend Margarenia, its a 10/10 and we would love to return one day!
