Marktgasse Hotel | Hotel in Niederdorf

Marktgasse Hotel places you in Niederdorf, in Zurich's Old Town, with the Grossmünster, Lake Zurich, and the Bahnhofstrasse Shopping Street all close at hand. From this historic Hotel, the city feels immediate: a tram stop is just steps away, and Kunsthaus Zurich is also nearby, making it easy to move between the neighborhood's narrow streets and the wider center of Zurich. The setting is compact, walkable, and well suited to days built around seeing the old town on foot. Inside, rooms pair air conditioning, free WiFi, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels with private bathroom facilities, while some units also include a seating area. The historic building brings character through low ceilings and sloped floors in some rooms, so the stay feels rooted in the fabric of the area rather than set apart from it. You can also expect thoughtful practical touches such as laundry services, luggage storage, and shuttle service on request and for an extra charge. Shared spaces add an easy rhythm to the stay, with a restaurant, bar, breakfast, and a lounge area that give you places to pause between outings. A 24-hour reception supports flexible arrivals, while the wellness center offers an added layer of ease after time out in the city. Pet-friendly and wheelchair accessible features are available, along with terrace access in select areas. Around the hotel, shops and bars are only a few steps away, so the neighborhood stays close even when you are not roaming far. Marktgasse Hotel suits a stay that wants the old town right outside the door and the pace of Zurich, remembered through short walks, simple comforts, and a sense of place.
