'Mo Eilean' - Your island home Reviews
This has been one of the most comfortable and amazing places I have rented in the UK. The host is very pleasant and lives next door. She met us outside and generously gave us a tour of the home. Before we even arrived, she asked for any special dietary requirements we had. Upon arrival, we found the fridge stocked with fresh eggs, milk, juices, and cheese. She also had fresh bread and a goodies welcome basket. She had ample information about the island--places to eat, things to see, everything. Literally everything was taken care of. There are board games, lots of relevant books, and even a PS4! The bath was amazing and the shower too. She had high end ishga products stocked. My only issue, and it really just comes down to my preference, is that i found the mattresses a little firm for my arthritic hip. I just kept a couple extra advil by the bedside. If I had any recommendations, I would say maybe get one softer mattress for those of us who have arthritis. Overall, this is probably the best VRBO on the Isle of Lewis and Harris due to its location and overall comfort. Even though the island looks large on a map, everything was within about an hour and a half away. Callanish was only about 28 minutes away. The Butt of Lewis was about 45ish minutes away. Luskentyre Beach was about an hour and 20 minutes away (if i remember right). I will definitely stay again!
This was our favorite place to stay in our two weeks in Scotland. The whole house was beautiful and recently all redone. Very clean and lovely decorations. Fireplaces, spa type bathroom, washer and dryer, beautiful oven, sound systems all over the house. The owners met us when we got there and live right next door. They also had a little gift basket with some goodies in it. We got lobster and crab and shrimp at the fish market which was 5 minutes walk away and had a big seafood supper. Backyard patio was nice too but it rained so we couldn’t use it. We loved this place!
An amazing property. Amazing hosts. Everything was perfect to the last detail. The accomodations were beautiful and bespoke. We stayed at other VRBO properties on our 3-week stay in the UK and this one spoiled us for all of our other accomodations by far. I would love to move to Stornoway and live in this house!
