Nation's Inn  |  Hotel in West Jefferson

This is an older hotel with adequate facilities and reasonable rates.

When visiting West Jefferson (typically twice a year), I usually stay at a competitor property across the road. This time it was fully booked so I thought I would try Nation's Inn. Never again. They had my reservation wrong. (On the plus side, the lady at the front desk was well-intentioned and kind.) The now non-smoking hotel previously permitted smoking, and the room stunk of cigarette smoke. The room in the "pet-friendy" hotel smelled of past dog guests (and while I'm definitely a dog person, I prefer my hotel room doesn't smell of other people's dogs) The breakfast was meager And the entire property needs more than a refresh - more like a re-build If ever faced with the situation where the competitor across the road isn't available, I'll stay instead at a hotel in Boone

Could have had more of a selection for breakfast. The guest laundry was out of order. Front desk was very helpful in recommending new places to eat and giving us directions on where to go.

Room was clean with no odors. Staff was friendly and helpful. Refrigerator wasn't very cold and there was no microwave.

My first stay there was OK for the money. My last stay there, literally, was bad. Trash everywhere around exterior, cigarette butts all over staircase and walkways. No towels in room, had to go to the desk each day to request and receive them. Shower head leaked sending water everywhere.

Our room was nice and clean. There was not much offered for breakfast.

The service was friendly. The room was basic and dated but served its purpose. The bathroom and linens were clean. The only part that was unappealing was the thick layer of dust on the walls.

Very reasonably priced.

This hotel has seen better days. It is undergoing some renovations....Our room had no cover on electrical outlet, fridge froze everything in less than 12 hours, cigarette burns on all furniture and tub, chair was so bad with stains, tears and cig burns, we were afraid to sit on it. I guess you get what you pay for....the room rate was great!!!
