Positive:
Not at all mainstream and a very interesting and unusual place to stay. Excellent and characterful decor in our room, plus a massive comfortable bed and a delightful bathroom. Breakfast was fine and prepared for us the night before by the helpful host. Really pleased that we were offered off street parking for our car. The place was very quiet indeed (deserted) when we visited though there are function rooms downstairs that no doubt will be busy at times.
Negative:
The host doesn't live on the premises so there's no one on hand during the night, though the owner is very responsive to phone calls.
Summary: Unusual but in a good way.
