Northfield Hotel Reviews
Summary: The room was a good size but the lighting was poor. Unfortunately the building is crying out for refurbishment. We felt uncomfortable in the public areas as the decor is long overdue for renewal. Overall the hotel seems to cater mainly for an elderly clientele. Although we are in our 70's we felt we didn't belong.

Summary: This hotel has mainly kept it's original turn of the century interior and exterior appearance and has not been ruined by modern cheap makeovers. There is a sense of nostalgia, tradition, quality and 1920s English upper class, a place where Poirot would stay, if Agatha Christie has known about it.
The breakfast was plentiful, there were varied evening meal menus, which were fine and there was also complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day. There was a good selection of drinks at the bar.
The staff were really hospitable, the other guests were very polite, the dogs were friendly (a dog friendly hotel),
The hotel has it's own gardens which are beautiful and if that is not enough, the hotel is opposite Blenheim Gardens park. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and the "Old Ship Aground"

Summary: Be sure to talk to the staff as they are extremely helpful and will try to understand what you want and need. Make use of the pool and the facilities and do roam around the beautiful garden. Hotel it is in an excellent spot close to the beach and a wonderful hike in the hills and the classical garden nearby.

Summary: Northfield was delightful! I wish every hotel was filled with such kind workers and friendly staff. The food was very good. This hotel even hired a musician to entertain its guests. This staff goes above and beyond to make sure their visitors have an enjoyable stay. The room was very large with a beautiful ocean view. The hotel was clean and tidy. I give this hotel 5 stars!
