“Restaurant meal was very disappointing Staff are great Room needed carpet cleaned and the doona was grubby”

“Communication from the hotel wasn’t great. I booked two consecutive nights at the hotel, on two different occasions - originally booked for Saturday night only as we were attending a dress-up 50th birthday party nearby, then booked the Friday night as well, so we could relax on the Saturday and not feel rushed. Despite leaving messages for them prior to arrival, saying we are staying for two nights and can they please put us in the same room for both nights, they obviously didn’t read it and we had to change rooms. No upgrade, no free breakfast or anything just ‘oh sorry’. Really average service, sadly. In addition, woken up early on Saturday morning due to drilling sounds in the walls - they sent us about six messages prior to stay re building work next door, but said it was Mon-Fri only. Partner mentioned it to reception, they said ‘oh, it happens sometimes when they’re behind schedule…’ - maybe add that to your courtesy letter? Not quite the level of service for the price being charged. Rooms are nice enough though and handy location.”

“We were told through the Expedia app we would get 10% off - no where to enter the code! We were then quoted $30 per room for breakfast when we arrived and was charged $42 per head then had to argue that we were quoted $30 per room. They did drop it to $30 per head. Because of reservations we then had to pay $50 for valet parking!! Became an expensive night!!! ”
