Positive: We stayed overnight at the beautiful little establishment Planches and Plonk in Belvès, and from the moment we arrived we were treated amazingly. The owners, Graham and Damon, along with their gorgeous (and very well-behaved!) dog Malbec, were so welcoming, attentive, and informative.
We booked a table for dinner that evening, and it was such a treat. The charcuterie was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines they recommended — they really took the time to understand our tastes and suggest something just right. They were patient with our many, many questions and made the whole experience feel so personal.
The place itself is stunning immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and full of warmth and charm. It’s not at all pretentious, just effortlessly inviting. Our bedroom was cozy, spotless, and had everything we could need fluffy towels, toiletries, tea and coffee and the bed was incredibly comfortable (and I’m quite fussy about that!).
We slept wonderfully and woke to a lovely view of the ancient street through the shuttered windows. I can’t wait to go back next time, we’ll definitely stay longer. Highly recommend this gem of a place.

Graham and Damon are excellent hosts. Their property is in a characterful part of a beautiful village and has been renovated sympathetically to retain all of its charm. They are extremely knowledgeable about the wines, cheeses etc that they serve and are obviously passionate about what they do.
