Ravelston House  |  Hotel in Fisherrow

Super hotel, close to the harbour & beach. Rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. This is our second visit here, would definitely recommend.

Staff were lovely. Got us into our room as soon as the housekeeper had finished cleaning it. Bed was a little softer than preferred and there was an event in the function room that was quite noisy until just past midnight but otherwise a comfortable stay and convenient bus stops into the city right outside.

Clean and comfy rooms with a great shower but above the bar/function room with live music & parties both nights. Luckily we were not wanting an early night. Ate at hotel bar both nights as convenient and food was fine

Our room was large - excellent shower and all clean. Bed was very comfortable, although the base needed attention - looked quite unsightly with chipboard showing. Had an excellent evening meal. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were clean. The staff were helpful apart from one who was grumpy. Disappointed thought breakfast was included or atleast available,only Saturday Sunday. The bar was ok a but found in the evenings. The covered area was cold had ceiling heaters but had ti keep switching on as they re on a short timer. I had food one night the service and food was good. Bar staff were good and helpful.

The accommodation is ok and the room looks nice but then you lay on the bed you can feed very spring etc and makes for not a good sleep. The bathroom looks ok until you need to wash in that basin aka bird bath as it's that small, also quite a lot of mould on the ceiling and window curtains. I paid £100 for the night and would expect body wash/shampoo to be included but it was not to be. Very poor and wouldn't return.

Gorgeous room, and the bus stop outside had direct links into the centre of Edinburgh. The bar downstairs was a bit loud during the evenings but was likely just due to the World Cup! Amazing place to stay.

This is basically a pub with rooms. As the rooms are in an old building they are small, with ours only having room for one bedside table. The sockets weren’t well placed in relation to the mirror, hence hair dressing ability wasn’t great. Breakfast is only served on Saturday and Sunday (from 9.00 am) despite what the actual breakfast menu stated. Despite offering cereal, none was available despite Lidl being practically next door. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated and there were good tea and coffee facilities. There is on site parking which is handy. It was a budget purchase for us as Edinburgh was pretty much booked out, and at half the price of the Premier Inn I shouldn’t really complain. Ubers to Leith cost between £11-24 depending on time of day etc.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but it has gone downhill badly. There’s clearly been no upkeep or care put into the place. On my recent stay, one of the two rooms was tiny, not properly cleaned, the mattress was in poor condition, and the shower only ran cold. Really disappointing considering how good it used to be.

Ravelston House was lovely and such a great find to stay at. The staff where really friendly and helpful and I couldn't of asked for a better stay.
