Excellent breakfast. Reasonably comfortable bed. Valet parking overnight is excessively expensive.

I stay at this hotel every summer, and I want to give a big shout out to the front desk manager, Chauncey, for making every visit such a positive experience whenever she is on duty. Her professionalism and willingness to help make all the difference. It’s rare to meet a manager like Chauncey who is so present, approachable, and genuinely committed to delivering outstanding customer service. The small bedroom I stayed in this time had a bit of a funky smell and could have used better ventilation. Other than that, I had another enjoyable stay.

I initially reserved this hotel because of the location and included breakfast. There were three of us staying in a Double Queen room. Though there are photos, already online, we were pleasantly surprised with how large the room is, along with the kitchen amenities and additional television. With the pocket door separating the kitchen/living room area from the beds, it is essentially a suite - which is very helpful when people have different sleep schedules! The rooftop restaurant is nice, especially with the view of the bay. Having the breakfast included is another nice convenience, despite having so many nice places nearby for food and drinks. The people taking care of the breakfast are prompt with removing your plates, etc. There is ample dining area in the lobby for breakfast, as well. There are ample breakfast choices to suit everyone's diet. You really cannot beat this location. Besides being extremely close to UC Berkeley, there's many interesting neighborhoods you can walk to (eg. Gourmet Ghetto). It's easy to walk to the hotel from the Downtown Berkeley Bart Station. If you do not want the valet parking, you can park overnight at the North Berkeley Bart station, which is a two minute ride to the Downtown Berkeley Bart Station (ie. the hotel). There are numerous buses along nearby Shattuck Ave, as well (essentially, adjacent to the Downtown Berkeley Bart station) All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely return!

Great location for Cal summer camp

Excellent stay. We reserved several rooms for a wedding and the staff helped resolve an overbooked room issue. Didn't realize parking was valet only, but it turned out to be very convenient.

The suites were large and very comfortable. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The location was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed there for a track meet for my granddaughter that is in college. I was very clean and all the people were kind. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view of the city. Loved the lounge are with the fireplace and felt comfortable letting my girls go down and enjoy the area. The buffet was very good and servers were pleasant. I would definitely stay again.

Probably our favorite place to stay when in the Bay Area. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and great breakfast. I will be staying here every time we visit.
