Riad Azahar | House in Mellah, Marrakech-Safi

Positive: Riad Azahar is a true oasis in Marrakech and is highly recommended. The airport transfer was smooth, and upon arrival I was welcomed by Youssef with mint tea and homemade cookies. Youssef provided an invaluable introduction to Marrakech, sharing a brief history of the city along with an orientation and map, which was a wonderful way to begin the trip. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and lovely toiletries in the large bathroom. The riad itself is stunning and the rooftop is fabulous. The plunge pool is the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset after a day of exploring. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and different every day. It was always accompanied by a large pot of coffee, making it the perfect start to the morning. As a solo female traveler, I felt welcomed, safe and very well cared for throughout my stay. When returning late at night, Hassan would meet me at the taxi drop-off point and walk me back to the riad. Ishmael and Roberto were also incredibly kind and no request was ever too much trouble. Riad Azahar truly felt like a home away from home and I would not hesitate to stay there again on a future visit to Marrakech. Thank you to all of the amazing staff for making my trip to Marrakech so magical.

Negative: The location is down a few alleyways and is not accessible via taxi/ car. It is easy to navigate to from the main streets due to the through instructions from the kind Riad staff and when coming back late at night, the staff were always willing to come to meet me on the main street where the taxi would drop off (near the Bahia Palace) and accompany me back on the short walk to the Raid.

Positive: Lovely stay!! Super clean and very nicely decorated Riad and room. Everywhere was spotless and beautiful, making our stay very comfortable. The rooftop upstairs is wonderfully decorated with plants and has both an exposed and covered section, and a pool that lights up! Extremely attentive, friendly and helpful staff (namely Youssef and Hassan, and the cleaners) made us feel at ease during our first trip to Marrakech. Youssef helped us draw up a map of recommendations around Marrakech, and made sure we had what we needed. The owner Roberto was also very welcoming and made sure we enjoyed the Riad to the fullest! Everyone here went the extra mile, the cleaner even folded our pyjamas for us :) The location is great too, being around 5mins from Place Mellah, which was a convenient pickup point for many of our excursions. This Riad was a little safe haven after returning from the busy streets of Marrakech. Thank you for a lovely stay guys :)

Positive: OUr stay at Riad Azahar was great! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the riad is quiet, the roof terrace and small pool are great. Our room was very nice as well. We had dinner at the riad on our first evening as we we tired after a long trip and the food was excellent. Breakfast was also very good. I had to have something ironed once but another customer had locked the iron in their room and left so the staff ran to the next dry cleaner's and they had it ready for me in 20 minutes.

Positive: I would recommend Riad Azahar to anyone visiting Marrakech. The staff were absolutely fantastic, super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, thoughtfully organized, and beautifully designed. I would definitely stay there again. Not to mention the excellent breakfast and the stunning rooftop view

Positive: For someone who wants to stay amidst the souks it’s perfect. It’s in the center of spice market. When you come from the hustle bustle to the calm atmosphere inside the riad it’s relaxing and feels like home
