Modern yet cozy, this family home in Snow Ridge Village at Jack Frost Mountain Resort offers ski in/ski out access and is on the same site as Jack Frost National Golf Club. My parents were the original owners and in 2020 my wife and I purchased the house and completed extensive renovations.
This is not our rental property, it is our second home that we love. It is important to us that our guests enjoy it just as much as we do. We personally manage the house and strive to communicate quickly and clearly with our guests. We visit a minimum of once a month to ensure a clean, comfortable and well-maintained home that everyone will enjoy.
Great Room - Wood burning fireplace (wood provided), 65 inch smart TV (with a MantleMount system that allows you to lower it to eye level-even while using the fireplace), multiple couches and seating options, free book library, games and puzzles, LED candles, bluetooth speaker.
Bedroom 1 - A 1st floor King Bed Suite with attached full bath, including double vanity and soaking tub. Direct access to screened porch and 55 inch smart TV. All linens and organic bath products provided.
Bedroom 2 - A 1st floor Queen Bed Suite with attached full bath (shared with upstairs bedrooms). 40 inch smart TV. All linens and organic bath products provided.
Bedroom 3 - Complete separate area for children (or adults!). Two twin beds. A sectional sofa (that converts to a queen bed), 50 inch smart TV ready to work with any gaming system you bring.
Loft - Four Ikea Utaker beds, stacked as daybeds, can unstack to create 4 separate sleeping areas. Multiple USB charging ports and outlets for everyone's devices. Game table with foosball, ping pong and more! Cabinet with board games, puzzles and art supplies.
Kitchen - FULLY Stocked. (Trust me, I cook Christmas dinner here) All new cookware and kitchen gear (please don't use metal on the non-stick pans). Instant Pot, toaster oven, rice cooker, griddle, waffle iron, immersion blender, hand mixer, stock pots, baking sheets, colanders, measuring cups/spoons, graters, microplaners, cutting boards and actually sharp chef knives...you get the gist-cooking is a priority for me and this kitchen is exceptional for a rental. (Gas grill is located on the front porch)
Beverage Station - Keurig coffee maker, Cuisinart coffee pot, hot water kettle. Hot chocolate and an assortment of coffee Keurig pods are provided. An assortment of teas are provided as well. There is also dedicated area for wine storage, corkscrews and a wine saver system (please leave the stoppers for the next guest).
Dining - Table is set for 8 (additional chairs in the front closet to squeeze in a few more). Tons of stoneware plates/bowls and utensils, new glasses and barware.
Front Porch - Porch swing. Small seating area for intimate conversation (my morning coffee spot). Gas grill. Rack for ski storage.
Back Porch - Fully screened. Rocking chairs for 4 and additional folding chairs in deck box. Hammock. Propane heater for cold nights.
Dedicated Work Space - Ergonomic chair and desk currently located in a nook in the Great Room but can be moved to any space.
Discounts: The Poconos are an ideal weekend getaway, but we do like to encourage longer stays. Please contact us using the "contact host" tab - we offer a 50% discount for monthly stays.
Worth pointing out:
The home is air conditioned with a new mini split system. Each bedroom and the great room have individual units that can be set independently.
Mobility and stairs: All key rooms are on the ground floor with no internal steps. The main bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining rooms, kitchen and porches are all on the same level. The “kids” bedroom and loft are the only spaces upstairs.
There are many good spaces for people to be social or work quietly. If you need to work from a laptop or have a meeting, or your kid needs to zoom into school, there is plenty of space for that to happen quietly while the rest of your group is having fun elsewhere in the house.
Uber and Lyft provide service to and from the house.
For skiers and snowboarders:
There is a flat and easy walking access trail to the Ridge Run ski slope at Jack Frost Mountain Resort. The distance from the house to Ridge Run is about 200 yards, less than a five minute walk. For any non-skiers who want to watch their family and friends schuss down the ski slope this trail offers easy access for viewing and a good spot to cheer them on.
For golfers:
On the same property and only a 5 minute drive from the house, Jack Frost National is rated one of the top 20 public courses in PA. The course is a 7200 yard mountain course set in an oak forest with great views. It has wide fairways and easily identifiable targets.
There are two other public courses within a 15 minute drive, Mountain Laurel and Split Rock Golf Clubs.
Wineries/Vineyards/Distilleries:
There are several wineries in the Poconos areas. Two of the best are about 25 miles from the house, and only 15 minutes apart, so you can visit them both on the same day if you’d like. Mountain View Vineyard in Stroudsburg is a winery, brewery and distillery offering tastings of wine, beer and spirits. It also has a small bistro with a menu that changes weekly. Blue Ridge Estate Winery is just down the road in Saylorsburg. You can bring your own picnic or they have cheese platters and brick oven pizza (the cauliflower gf pizza is amazing). Both places are child and pet friendly.
Also, only 5 minutes from the house, Holy Ghost Distillery is a small batch craft distillery and cocktail bar.
Mohegan Sun Casino and Arena is about 30 minutes away.
Hickory Run State Park is a gem about 20 minutes from the house. There is a sand beach swimming area on a lake with a snack bar that serves sandwiches, drinks, ice cream and snacks. It also has 44 total miles of hiking trails, most of which are short and suitable for young, older or inexperienced hikers. Popular trails include Hawk Falls and the surprisingly mellow Shades of Death trail. The park boasts numerous waterfalls, a disc golf course and one of the largest glacial boulder fields in the US. Several streams are stocked with trout for springtime fishing. Mountain laurel and rhododendrons are in peak bloom mid-June through mid-July. Late September through early November are great for fall foliage.
Austin T Blakeslee Natural Area. A small and beautiful park along the nearby Tobyhanna Creek. This is our go to spot for a short outing. The creek and creekside trail are gorgeous, and a full door-to-door, out and back excursion can be two hours or less.
The nearby Lehigh River offers some of the best rafting and tubing in eastern Pennsylvania. Numerous outfitters are located in White Haven and Jim Thorpe, both within 30 minutes of the house.
Francis E Walter Dam. The drive across the top of this local dam is stunning. Kayaking in the reservoir or hiking the shoreline and forest along the lake offers surprising isolation and a feel of real wilderness.
Bear Creek Preserve - Natural Lands Trust. My new local obsession. An expansive private nature preserve that is free and open to the public. There are many miles of challenging and beautiful hiking trails on varied terrain. It is easy to combine Bear Creek Preserve with Francis E Walter Dam on one excursion.
Horseback riding:
Daisy Field Farm is a private farm and wildlife preserve that is right down the road in White Haven, PA. It offers horseback riding, trail rides and other farm activities by appointment only. Please call ahead for reservations.
Mountain Creek Stable is 30 minutes away and also offers trail riding, pony rides and wagon rides for the whole family.
Shopping:
The Crossings Premium Outlets are 25 minutes away in Tannersville
Waterparks:
There are several water parks within 30 minutes of the house that offer day passes:
Kalahari Water Park
Great Wolf Lodge
Camelback Waterpark Once you get back, unwind on the balcony most units feature, or head down to the pool and fitness center for a change of scenery. Every suite comes with free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, and cashless, contactless self check-in via the virtual front desk. A private bathroom, single-room air conditioning, and a full kitchen are featured in every 42–91 m² suite or studio. King beds furnish the 1-bedroom suites, while studios pair a queen with a sofa bed, and select studios add a soaking bathtub. Full toiletries are stocked throughout, and thanks to the in-unit washer and dryer, you’ll be able to travel light.

Ridge Run Retreat Reviews
Once again, enjoyed our stay! Everything was amazing!
We have stayed at Ridge Run Retreat for multiple years. It is always a great time. The place is clean, comfortable, and so close to the mountain. This year there was enough snow to ski in/ski out onto...
Excellent stay! Very quiet and cozy, felt like home. Everything you need is supplied. Host and hostess are the best. Will be staying again next year!
