Rosedale Inn | Hotel in Pacific Grove, California

“Excellent location. Okay place to sleep, but not to spend time. Furnishings are worn, and room wasnt very clean (garbage in can from previous guest, hair in bathroom), floor dirty, slight musty smell. Room 115, no hot water in the tub/shower, but had hot water at sink. Fireplace doesnt work. Quiet & peaceful.”

“The hotel is very nice, cabin. You feel like you're in the forest. Had a nice wet bar. Jacuzzi bathtub. And walking distance from the beach. Unfortunately my card was charged at the time of booking through Hotel.com and I was not notified. The wallpaper was peeling off and the heater didn't work very well. Overall very nice!”

“Clean large rooms. Near to wedding venue and.the ocean. Loved the fireplace. Lots of parking.”

“The property and rooms were not being maintained. The mattress had two sunken areas where the springs were compressed. The mattress needed to be replaced. The ceiling fan blades were sagging down, and needed to be tightened. The carpet was worn, frayed, and pulled up at some edge spots. The tub needed to be recaulked, and there was an area that was recaulked that mold will be growing due to water drainage. There was some minor wallpaper bubbling. There were no towel racks in the bathroom, but holes in the wall where a rack had been. The faucet fixtures were in need of polishing. The windows were hard to close due to the handles being either broken off or barely attached. The fireplace didn't have a push button ignition so you better have a lighter. I saw wires that were twisted together without any electrical tape or twist connector under the fireplace. All of these issues made it obvious that there little to no upkeep of the business and property. The bathtub jets did work in my room. The sink was and tile looked nice. The TV, microwave and mini fridge worked. The bed sheets and towels were clean. I can't recommend the Rosedale Inn due to it's worn down state, and the rental amount isn't worth what you get.”

“This little place is a peaceful gem in Pacific Grove! The gentleman working the front desk reception was very friendly and welcoming, and my checking in and out was smooth and easy. He said they are doing an extensive upgrade to the whole property...cool! With such a great serene location back in the trees and so close to Asilomar Beach, no doubt the end result will be wonderful! I will definitely be back to the remodeled Rosedale Inn!”

“I’ve stayed at the Rosedale for years and I’m saddened to see the state it is currently in. It looks like the current owners just don’t care! The bed was terrible because it was so old and worn out. The TV in the bedroom was not functioning properly and when I tried to change it with the one in the living room I couldn’t because the base was glued to the dresser it was on. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom looked terrible and the tub area needed to be sealed. It was once the place to go but with the current conditions we won’t be going anymore!”

“Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. The property and the room itself could use some updating. The floor looked like it was recently replaced and was very nice in the foyer and bathroom. The color tv was not working correctly as the picture was mainly black and white with some red streaks and sometimes blurry. We did not use the fireplace, and couldn't figure out how to turn on the AC. The ceiling fan worked and helped keep the room comfortable.”

“I have stayed in at least 30 hotels on the peninsula and this was sub par to say the least. The owners need to do a major renovation! The walls are paper thin - you can hear everything! The room smells like an old musty house with no ventilation. There was a ceiling fan but no switch to turn it on. The windows were missing a latch and screen. Wallpaper falling off. I wasn’t sure if there were cobwebs or black water damage on the ceiling. No amenities - 1 pkg of coffee. A couple of stirrers. And worst of all a very, VERY old lumpy bed! Look elsewhere for sure!”

“No A/C. Converted duplex and triplex houses. It seemed safe. And was full. Any port in a storm.”
