“I tend to avoid the larger chains as they are rarely very customer focused and restaurant options are limited and usually quite dire. Instead I used independants and the hotel & pub, is a prime example of how hospitality should and used to be. The staff from the moment you walk through the door, made you feel most welcome, upon checking in, I was shown to my room (rather than just given a key) - nice touch, room and ensuite was clean, tidy and fit for purpose, a table was reserved for me for dinner, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast was equally as nice (included in the price on my booking), with a table set and waiting my arrival. Room price was very reasonable too. Thank you to all the staff that I spoke to and made my 'business' stay a most pleasant one - I will definitely use again when in the area - keep doing what you do, its fantastic...”

“The team at the Royal Oak were fantastic from check in to check out. Freshly cooked tasty breakfast every morning and would definitely reccommend the sunday roast which was delicious. The team were very friendly and helpful throughout. The location was absolutely perfect!”
